"Homemade" Soup Using Leftover Ramen Noodles Flavoring Packs
I just made and ate some soup that I just made. Yum! My hubby takes ramen noodles for his lunch at work sometimes. He never uses a whole pack of flavorig. He uses half and saves the pack for the next pack of noodles and brings home the extra pack of flavoring. I use it like bouion. Well today I thought soup would be a nice lunch. I took a pack of the flavoring(chicken) and added 3 cups of water(next time I'll use 4 cups). I put that on to boil and cut 1 carrot and 1 stick of celery and threw it in to cook it the broth. Then I found a small pack of cooked whole wheat pasta in the freezer. I thawed that in the microwave slightly. Then I tossed in 3 hand fulls and bought it back to a boil then to a simmer for 5min(covered). Then I turned the burner off and let it sit for 5 more min. I have enough for 2 servings. This was my lunch today and will be tommorow.

That soup sounds good! We had a big snowstorm today, so I'm in the mood for a good soup.

great ideas. I used to live on those things. Enjoyed using the flavor pack on the cooked noodles with frozen veggies and some meat without the water. Always felt it made an instant meal.

Have you tried those flavour packs as a secret background ingredient for stews & sauces? Adds depth but it all depends on which flavour you're adding. What about using it to season meat?
A desperate gf used it to make a dip in her yoghurt - Im gonna guess it was a beef flavouring and it was similiar to onion dip? I havent a clue.2012: The Year Of The Purge!

I do that! Sometimes if I'm making a roast or something I'll put it in the crockpot with the meat and a little water also!

I gotta try the dip idea. I have some beef ones and dried onions and sour cream. Think maybe we'll have veggies and dip with dinner. Yum!
