My mom makes ham and cheese sandwiches, spread with mustard, minced onion and poppy seeds, wraps them in foil and freezes them until she needs a quick dinner, popping them in the oven. They are a family favorite. You could also try meatball sandwiches or breakfast sandwiches.

Break them up into pieces and use them instead of biscuits for biscuits and gravy.

I didn't remember this till after my last post locked up on me but, my mother used to keep all her leftover bread, from "heels" to the odd hamburger bun or dinner roll in a bag in the freezer. She kept adding to it till she had enough to make dressing/stuffing or a breakfast casserole.

We use four out of the eight buns in each package per meal. I just put the twist-tie back on the package after the meal and put in the freezer for the next time we have dogs or burgers. It's easy to thaw. Just pull the package out of the freezer and set on the counter for an hour or so. Good as new.

We also use them for garlic bread, but a good meatball sandwich can't be beat in a hot dog bun!

We sometimes use them to make a dessert similar to the old fashioned "butter roll" my Grandmother made. I'll have to find my recipe, but I know that you place the bun halves in a baking dish and cut up butter or margarine over them and top with a mix of sugar and vanilla and ????
Definately not a "healthy" recipe but very good for a treat now and then.

hmmm
Bread crumbs, bread pudding, crumb cakes (can't remember the exact recipe though), tuna melts-take the stale buns and mix a can of tuna with some mayo and relish, top with cheese and wrap in foil, put in oven until bubbly
, stuffing, bread salad, croutons, etc...

I use our extra buns for garlic bread. I'll put butter, fresh garlic, parm cheese and shredded cheese into a bowl mix it all up then spread it over the buns. Then bake them until the buns are nice and crisp and the cheese is melted.
