WHAT ARE YOUR MOST PRIZED POSSESIONS
Other than family, friends, pets, and home (these are valuable to everyone)
Mine are many - but couldn't be bought or replaced today.
* My Mom's cookbook with her handwritten notes in it.
* Pictures, new and old (espec. of deceased) many are tin types
* 3 Bibles - 1 - I earned as a child, 2nd from grandma, 3rd bought for DH by my mom
* Approx. 75 antique books from grandparents (all 1800's)
* DH grandma's china
* Aunts china/cloth doll
* 3 dishes from set 5x gr. grandparents brought to this country in 1736
* Mom's stainless steel cookware (entire set) - bought when I was 6. It still looks brand new, and everything tastes better in it, since it was Moms. I use it every day. (If only they could talk!!)
* Library table that belonged to grandparents
* Handmade quilt (all handsewn) from DH grandma
* Mom's handwritten journals
* My family tree info
* Especially the widom and knowledge that I gained from my parents. They taught me how to live frugally and stretch a "dime", how to be a good person and work hard, and for all the orgainc gardening knowledge of my dad (he was ahead of his time) and the canning knowledge of mom.
* Memories - thank God I can still recall them and He gave us that ability.
Other than decent health and eyesight, these are probably my most prized.
What about you?

If you are talking physical possessions, then I really don't have any. Perhaps my grandmothers washbasin from the farm where she grew up. Other than that, I could leave all of my physical possessions behind. I really don't have physical attachments. Well, my wedding and engagements rings, of course.
If you are talking mental, then I'd have to agree with memories. I'd never want to forget where I'm from, what I've weathered, and how I got to where I am today.My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

Hey, POOTERSMOMMY---I am also 53 and named Cheryl! Hi!
I have my grandmother's rosary (she died in 1982) and my great grandmothers' rosary--(her mother's). I have sons, so I hope to pass them on to grandaughters.
I have the dress I was christened in---my mother made it by hand,--I mean BY HAND, no sewing machine.
My sons' baby books with their locks of hair and etc.
My grandmother's brush and matching hand mirror that were always on her vanity table.
ALL of the pictures I have of my sons.

I'd have to say photo albums, scrapbooks, digital photos, framed photos... you get the idea.
Otherwise, I could move on and live without most of my physical possessions.

1. Pictures and scrapbooks
2. Hubby's grandmother's wedding dress
3. My wedding dress and ring
4. Furniture made by my Dad
5. "Art" drawn by my son when he was little and by my grandkids
6. Some crocks that have been in the family a long time and have stories about them.
These are in no particular order, when I look at the list, I realize that each is significant because of the people who have been involved with these objects.Spiritual:

what little pictures I have
a onyx diamond ring my ex husband gave me, thats special because the look of the ring is a perfect match to me
Some guns my ex husband again bought me, the sense of protecting myself or be able to hunt if needed is a good possession to have
But really all I need is my children

I dont have very many possessions except for pictures of the kids and family. Other than that important papers would have to come with me as well as some pieces of furniture I love dearly (not mementos though)
I agree that all I would need is my children, strength & courage.

I don't generally place much sentimental value in my possessions either, but I definitely care most for my violin I guess. Can't have my symphony life without it.
I suppose all my photos too, but they are all digital so I forget to think of them as "things."
