Should Be Surprised- But I'm Not
My neice works for a Big Insurance Company ( she works with the big shots) and they got the news today that gas will be up to $10.00 a gallon before it quits raising.

Hate to think what the Diesel will cost for the Big Rigs.
My SIL heard from the oil man that Fuel oil will be $6.00 a gallon by fall.
Thank God we use wood in the winter the most...

I think that will cripple most of us in the United States.. alot of people will suffer that live paycheck to paycheck or on a fixed income..even the most frugal will have a very hard time...All I can think of is the poor elderly people will either starve or freeze to death this winter..

Thats what my sister and I was talking about today.
We are doing everything we can to stop driving and growing our own food.
I will start making my own laundry detergent and I will cut down on everything I can.
Then today president Bush asks Congress for 770 million to feed other countries. ( The man has no clue )To be One With The Universe In Spirit, Mind and Body

If the government lets the oil industry gouge the prices that high, I hope that they intend to lower the our taxes in order to keep this country running, if people have to pay $10 a gallon for gasoline, it would bring our economy to a standstill.

If gas goes that high... I seriously don't know what we will do.
Old Man works about 9 miles from home, 4 days a week -- that works in our favor.
On the other hand, bringing DD to and from school is a 40 mile a day excursion. I will have to choose continuing her education at the private school (which she loves) she is doing great at... and the public school which is about a mile from here (which I hate). I would have to walk her there since there are no buses, but there aren't any sidewalks either and it's a very busy, curvy road.
The grocery store is about a 15 minute walk for me, and I would look in to the 'old lady carts' if it came down to it.
I just don't know what we will do...
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

Geez, I hope that's not true. As a home health nurse, I'd definitely have to start working somewhere else and I'm sure others in the field will no longer be able to afford to do this type of work. I can't imagine what all those home health patients will do without being able to be cared for at home. Go into a hospital or go live in a nursing home? Either way, the Medicare system will be sorely taxed and so many of the sick and elderly will be so much worse off than they are now. The repercussions, for everyone, are really scary.

Well if gas goes up much higher then I think the big shots should make sure all the little guys get a big shot raise to keep up with the costs.

I'm not saying that this won't happen, but I'll believe it when I see it. Heather and Darlene it's time to flip over. LOL.

Your tan is looking great Heather, need a refreshing beverage? I've got you covered. I'm sitting postside, cutting back on this & that but not going where the doomsayers want me to go. Moderation & a clear head will see me/us through. jmho
