Stupid bank lady
This afternoon my mom got a call from the bank asking to speak with my dad. (He passed away in 1998) The caller said she could only speak with him. When my mom explained why it wouldn't be possible, the lady asked if she should take my dad's name off of her list. Umm...yes? What part of "he passed away" didn't she understand?
Good grief, the world is full of morons! On 11-22-85 I married the man of my dreams.
On 01-13-89 I gave birth to the love of my life.

Wow, my Dad passed away 12 years ago and my Mom still gets calls like that! Sometimes people just don't get it when they call and in the end my Mom just feels bad and misses my Dad more!

My dad passed away in 1984 and my mom in 1985. In 1988 I received a call like that only it was from an insurance saleperson.
They asked for my dad and I told him he has passed away in 1984.
He said well I really must speak with him as we want to set him up with life insurance so your mom will be protected.
I asked the man plain out If he Had A Clue to What passed Away meant
because neither of them needed life insurance and and hung up the phone.
Some people are really morons.

thats is sad..and stupid..
( little off subject)
we used to get calls from the newspaper here all the time when i was growing up and each time they called me and my sister did something to scare them off...first time i said we waz iliterate and cant read them papers...the guy just laughed and hung up, the next time i asked if it came in brail..and that really messed the person up..lol then my sister and her friends staged what sounded like a murder scene i think (wrong thing to do in my book) lots of blood curling screams i think..but they never called back at my parents house after that...

The first time I heard people doing this was when I was listening to a radio talk show. They played the telephone conversation. Only this time....the person receiving the call were pretending they were going to kill themselves. It's sad how dumb people are getting. They seem to not listen to what people are saying. How can someone not know what passed away means. Makes me wonder...since the conversations are sometimes recorded "for quality purpose," do they play these recordings for the moron who called? If not, they really need to.

My husband usually will either start witnessing to the person on the other end OR make that person go thru their WHOLE ENTIRE SPEECH & ask them all kinds of questions & then say, no thanks, we don't want that kind of service & please take us off your call list! it's halarious!
Sometimes I will act as if I do not speak english or as if I am a little girl or just act stupid with them... (i.e.... do you subscribe to the newspaper? well you should know that kind of information before you call someone... are you one of those people that try to weasel out info out of unsuspecting people? cuz if you are lemme tell you something... my sister's cousin's husbands bestfriends sister had to deal with... yada yada yada!)... sometimes it is just fun to mess with people...

I really don't understand why such stupid calls are placed by these large companies, it makes us feel less likely to deal with the company based on their representation. We get a call every month from some company about new window installation. We rent an apartment. Every month I tell these twits that we are renters and take us off your list, we won't be owning a home for years. I've gotten into the habit now of asking the person how on earth we ended up on their list since neither my fiance or I have ever owned a home!

All I have to say is CALLER ID, it is a wonderful tool. We sometimes get calls for the original owners of our house, (when it was built, in 1950 something), they have since passed on, we have come to find out, and we tell these people that, but every once and while we will get a call and have to explain it all over again. The even funnier thing is that we have changed our number since we moved in 4 years ago!! Now someone explain that one to me???!!!
