Good news!!!
Momma had her catheter removed on Wednesday, we were afraid things were going to get harder (bed-wetting, changing the bed at 3am etc). She has had a catheter since she came from physical therapy/rehab in early December.( I changed it monthly) Not having the catheter to rely on has actually motivated her to use the bedside commode!!! Yes!! She's actually and finally making an effort to do something for herself.

She has consistently used the bedside commode since Wednesday for both #1 and #2 (huzzahh!!!!! no stinky bedpans or diapers) She only uses the diaper overnight (which is to be expected)
She is finally starting to stand and walk again. She hasn't been able to walk since November 16th 2007. (she broke her leg in 4 places) Finally we all have a glimmer of hope that she will be at least semi-mobile again. She used to walk a little bit with her walker before she fell.
Just had to share the news.

That's great news. She must feel so much better, not having to rely on you for such basic needs. She must have her sense of pride back.

Great new. Glad she is doing better.
