Default I sort of got creative...

We had a women's tea tonight at church. At these events, several women volunteer to be table hosts. They decorate a table, create favors and centerpieces, furnish the place settings, etc. That means that every table is different, and it is so much fun to walk around and view the different tables. For example, we had a tropical table, a Noah's ark table, a fruits of the spirit table, a pink princess table, a cookie jar table, and so forth. A friend and I decorated a table. We had a 70s table, with those great 70s colors of orange, yellow and green (think of ancient appliance colors!) The centerpiece was a giant hurricane lamp filled with lemons and limes and grape vines. The favors were clear candle votive glasses filled with lemon drops. Besides being retro in colors, our theme was the Vine and the Branches. So the grapevines played a role. I'll try to attach a photo of our table.

So.... it was a great time with great people eating lots of great finger foods and appetizers, hearing a great speaker..... well, you get the idea.

that's a very pretty table setting, I don't think it looks too "70's", just green/yellow/natural.

I'm actually drawn to settings like those in the retro styles. I've been very tempted to do a 30's room in our house. Great idea there, I'm sure you got lots of compliments on in it.
