Default Grocery Angels Are With Me! Big-Time Score

Okay, I had posted a few days ago about my local grocery store discontinuing the brand of canned vegetables that I buy. I called the Grocery manager & managed to order 15 cases from their warehouse. Instead of the usual .39 cents a can, he said that I would be getting the veggies at .22 cents a can. I thought that was a really good price. Fast-forward to this morning - I went to pick up my order & the grocery manager told me that they had 2 more cases left & asked if I wanted them too b/c that was the very last that they had(once its gone, its gone). So I said "sure" - when I went to pay for it all.....they only charged me .20 cents a can!!(was 81.60 for it all) I saved $122.40 by just making a phone call. If I were to have bought 17 cases of vegetables at the store brand price at .50 a can, I would have had to pay $204. I received 6 cases of peas,5 cases of green beans & 6 cases of corn. I was so worried about how we were going to be able to build a good stockpile w/o breaking the bank - God knows our needs before we even ask & lately, it seems as if good deals are falling out of the sky(not common here).lol. I am doing cartwheels. I know I sound silly, but with the way that prices are going up, I get really excited when things like this happen

I would be excited too. That's a savings of at least 60%! Great job of being resourceful. We are all going to need to have that kind of resourcefulness to get great bargains like that. Thanks for sharing

.20 cents a can....WOW....it's sad, but I remember when you were able to buy canned veggies for that price quite often. Not going to happen now though, .50 here is a great buy. Good job on your score!

I just stocked up here because they were .50/can and that is a great deal here.

    Wow! I'm impressed.
