Default Woo-hoo going shopping in the States!Who's from Maine??

I'm headed to Kittery Maine Thursday, and I'm trying to plan carefully so I can make the most of my money. I'm looking for clothes and really anything else that's a super good buy. Anyone have any ideas??

drive a few more miles and hit the tax free NH state line...

Have a great trip, and my only advice for your shopping trip... try everything on, open every box and make sure whatever isn't broken... one heck of a long ride if you have to return something.
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

    I mean, apart from Kittery?

If you stopped in Portland on your way there's tons of great shopping there. Bangor too (but that's my home so I am a bit biased.)

It depends on what kinds of places you wanted to hit. Mardens is a great place for discount prices. Brewer has a Mardens last I knew.

I don't shop in Kittery much, but I recently heard that you need to be careful at the Crate & Barrel outlet if you're looking for bargains. As I understand it, during tourist season their prices are often the same as at the regular retail stores.

Can't help with Kittery/Portland area, that is 2 hours away from me.

Bangor, we have Kohls, old navy, LL Bean outlet, Walmart, Kmart, the mall with various stores (anchors: Macy's, Penneys, Sears and a Ginormous sporting goods store) Good will and several other thrift stores, fashion bug

I'm sure that there are a few small shops down town but I don't go there, I tend to stay in the mall area with the other large retail stores.

    Brewer: Marden's and super walmart.

Cant' think of anything else right now.

Thanks ladies...I got more details tonight, and we're driving straight to Kittery the first day (ugh, 13 hours in the car :S) staying a night, shopping, then heading to Bangor, and something about Freeport as well. I've been checking out the store listings online, and seeing some promising ones. My DH (giggle....still not used to that) gave me $200, so I'm going to have to shop carefully, but I'm feeling pretty confident I can hit some great buys. Is there Target in Maine? I know it sounds silly, but I really really LOVE target!!

Oye, Yes, I forgot about Target. I don't shop there often.

There is a Target in Bangor right in the Mall area with Walmart and Home Depot etc.
