Dangling by a thread...
I woke up this morning, ready to start the day... reached in to get milk for DD's breakfast... it was warm!
Not only was it warm... I stuck another thermometer in the fridge... it's 61* in there!!!!
So, not only did I lose all my perishables (which was a lot because I just got the dairy, about 4 lbs. of chicken I was going to cook today, and a weeks worth of lunches for the Old Man) my fridge is only 14 months old!!!
I am trying to find the paperwork for the fridge, in this place, it can take days
I have to replace everything that went bad... not easy since we are still a few days shy of payday. ARGH!
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

How frustrating!!!! Is nothing salvagable???? The chicken might be ok if the fridge was working yesterday and you go on and cook it all up now.

No, the chicken is... dead.
Old Man would have a fit if I tried serving my family it. He is FoodSafe certified
Not that I would... chicken only has a 20 minute counter life, and that's after it's cooked!
I am just so frustrated. Old Man is driving DD to school so I can look up 'warm-life' of the foods I am questionable about. I have no idea how long it has been warm, the fancy smancy digital read-out says it's 38 in there!
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

If you have homeowners/renters insurance, you might see if they will reimburse the cost of the food lost.

I just hate it when stuff like that happens!!! I would check with your insurance, they may cover the cost of the food...and I hope your warrenty is still good! A friend had his fridge go bad just after the warrenty expired...$345 to get it fixed...he is po'd! His was a Maytag, what brand is yours?

Oh, NO!
I'm so sorry. I agree with whomever said to check your insurance and see what's covered.
