Newbie from TN(and all over)
Hi my name is Lisa and I just joined this forum about a week ago. My husband and I have been living and traveling in our motorhome for the past 3 years. We have property in TN where we stay for the summer. Anyway, we are tired of moving around and we are going to build a semi, underground solar and wind generated house on another piece of land in TN.
We are so excited about this as we are trying to eliminate most bills. No electric, no water, no loans, and no phone bill(at least not monthly), and our property taxes for 40 acres is $130.00 per year(how cool is that). I am so ready to build our house where I can stock our pantry to my hearts' content, start a garden and start the canning process. We should start building the house in about a month. We will be doing most of the work ourselves.
I don't like shopping but I do love coupons, freebies, and bargains. I love to read but I only use the library or I swap books. I love to work outside and to cook(big batches of food-that's the italian in me).
I am enjoying your forum so far and I am glad to be a part of it.
Can you explain all the descriptions next to everyone's name. For example what is casino money etc.?
Thanks,
Lisa

Welcome! I am excited to read about your plans! A self sufficient house is what I want as well! I have been reading about 'earthships' for over 10 years, but we're not quite there yet! (: I'm from Oregon but have travelled through TN, beautiful place! I'm actually new to this site as well, so I can't help you. I haven't figured those things out yet myself!
