Our cheapest gas station's, cheapest gas (which I pump) was at $3.73 last night. I thankfully pumped earlier in the week when it was $3.71. There are 2 HESS Stations in my area and both seem to be the cheapest around and one always goes up in price a day or two before the one I pump gas from, this gives me a small heads up to pump gas now at the cheaper rate.
Same here. Yesterday it was $3.899
I'm afraid to look today.
Thankfully I rack up 20-30c/off per gallon with my Price Chopper card. Last time we filled up the van for $3.57/gallon. Never thought I would think that was a barge :skept:
I'm completely sick of watching/thinking about the prices increase, yet I can't help myself.
Friday morning, diesel was 4.04, it jumped to 4.19 by Friday evening. This morning 8:00 am on the way to DD school, it was still 4.19, by 9:00 am its 4.35.
I'm 31, so I don't have years and years experience in the matter, but I don't remember prices being the unstable. Anyone older remember price increase this fast?

Yes, it's going up, up & up! We'll all have to come up with more creative ways to get around.
I just read how bike sales have skyrocketed ... I've always loved cycling!
This week, 5/12 -16th is being promoted as and Bike-to-Work week... if someone could do it - may as well!
I heard a guy on the radio say that he drives half the distance to work, parks, unloads his bike and cylcles the rest of the way. He's 20 miles from work. I thought it was a great idea to split the difference. It wouldn't work for everyone, but man oh man! $3.89 last week. I'm afraid to see what it will be next week!
Saturday morning it was $3.75.9
and Saturday morning it was $3.81.9
They are saying $4.00 by Memorial Day and $5.00 by July 4th and higher by Labor Day
Darlene thanks for the link. I have read about 1/2 of the posts on that link. Very insightful to hear from people that have been there done that. Seems everyone made do and lived to tell.
I got gas Wednesday before the price increases over the weekend. Regular was ONLY $3.459, but I needed mid-grade for $3.619. My tank is very small, so I'll need another 5 or 6 gallons in a few days. The regular is now $3.659, went up on Saturday at several stations. Most others went up on Sunday. By the time I need gas again, who knows how much it will be!
Gas here in Calgary was 1.09/litre a bit ago, then it jumped to 1.25/litre! I know some other parts of Canada has it higher, some places it's like 1.40/litre. The last I checked, 3.87 litres/gal...
3.87x1.25=4.83
Oh man. Hubby said he was spending 20/wk to get to work, now it's double that. I guess that's where the cash is going that we're saving on groceries. :yucky: The funny thing in all of this is that we sit in the province where the oil's dug up from the oilsands AND refined AND shipped through a pipe into the US...

Actually, I just found out, while we do *some refining* in Alberta, I don't know to what purpose as most of our fuel is purchased from the us....most of it is pipelined out raw, refined in the US and the sold back to us. How dumb is that???
I filled up at $3.85 this morning. I didn't know it was going to be a good deal.
We hit $3.99.9 about mid-morning. One of my co-workers ran out immediately and filled up at a nearby station that was still 3.85.
I'm raelly close to asking for a flexible work schedule. Even if I could work 4 instead of 5 days per week. That would save me $12 per week in gas. I haven't yet because we are actually short staffed.

It would save $12 in gas, what would you lose in wages? Or is there other reasons you want to shorten your work week? Could you carpool with co-workers? 2 or 3 of you take turns driving different days?
Today on my way in to work I passed the gas station that usually goes up first in this area, yesterday gas was at 3.699 and today 3.759. Needless to say, I was a little under half full and I found the next station that was still at 3.69 and filled up. I put in 10.822 gallons and it cost $40.03. uke: Just makes me sick!!
I just came back from town and the cheapest I saw was Reg. 376.9 plus 10 cents for every grade increase and Diesel was $4.46.9. Unfortunately I bought a high performance vehicle the last time so it takes the highest grade and at least every other time I get gas I have to go to a better gas station to keep it running right. So I paid $4.10 this morning to put gas in my car. yuck!
