    Default Borax/Arm&Hammer Super Washing Powder???

Is the Arm&Hammer Super Washing Powder the same as Borax. I tried to see if the ingrediants were the same but they weren't listed. Anybody know???? I'm going to start makeing my own detergent and the Arm&Hammer is a better price. If it's the same stuff, does it work just as well???

No it's not the same thing. Here's a good soap recipe I've used it for years.1/3 bar Fels Naptha grated,1/2 cup Arm & Hammer Washing Soda,1/2 cup Borax,2 gallons of water.I use 1 gal. water heat on stove till it's melted then add the other gal. of water.Let sit overnight it will get thick. This kind of soap works best in warm water it will even take grease out of clothes my DD uses it her BF is a mechanic.

They're different products and ingreds.....you need em both for the soap recipes but it's still very frugal after you bought your supplies the first time, you can make a few batches out of the borax and washing soda.

I just use A&H washing soda in my homemade detergent - I've never purchased Borax.

I use Borax with every load. We have well water and it helps to keep the whites bright.

    Hi!

May I ask where everyone is finding the A&H Super Washing Soda?? I have looked and called everywhere around here and in surrounding towns with no luck - No one will/can even order it for me! I have everything else to make the laundry detergent, but missing the Washing Soda - Help!

    Blessings,

    Kim

It was sitting next to the Borax at Kroger. That's why I thought it was the same stuff.

I heard that the washing soda is also called "Amaze" ... depends on where you shop... we don't have the Kroger chains up here, so I don't know what the off-brand would be
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

I look all over the place for the washing soda, finally found it at my King Soopers (Kroger) grocery store.

One can also order it online if you really want it. I use Nels F but one can also use Zote which is a pink mexican soap.

You can watch some videos on Youtube that show how to make it at home
