I am waiting to see just how high it has to get before SOMETHING is done.
I have no idea what the something is or will be however. I can say this: the high prices have greatly reduced my driving. My last tank of gas lasted me 2 weeks and 5 days. I am trying to make this one last even longer.

$3.65 is what I paid on Fort Campbell today. They are not the cheapest, but I wasn't going to the area that was. I had posted this link before - but I will post it here again. It's a cheap gas price finder for your area. Just type in your zip code and it will bring up a map with what is the cheapest where.

I am also wondering how high it can go! I reckon some folks figure it is sky high in Europe and no one is coming to there rescue. They just stoically buy it or walk or take the bus.

I think this is insane!! I can't wait for someone to put a cap on the price increases! It is going to get so high that we will all be cutting something from our budgets.
I saw on the evening news that one person is only allowing her family 2 meals a day now instead of three. That is sad. She was a single mom and has to pay high gas prices in order to get to work and provide for her family. I just wonder how many other people will follow her lead.~*Michelle*~

I agree it is kind of scary. I also wonder where it will stop at.

grr, I wonder when there will be an investigation and what the outcome will be. Energy companies are posting record profits quarter after quarter while the rest of the world suffers. I have no idea, I'm not educated enough on the subject, but can't the government (or geez, the world governments put together) put a cap on profits? Force prices down? Legally do something? And why aren't they if so?
My grandfather was a railroader, I know when they try to strike the government usually forces them back to work under the excuse of it being "national security issue." I think they've forced miners back to work for the same reason. It hinders national transportation of goods and production.
So at what point does *this* become a security issue? (end babbling)

The Cleveland area is all over the place for gas. My father called me after work to tell me that where he was gas had risen to $3.97 today at all gas stations. I went to The Evil Empire ( Wal Mart) (I can't believe it but I finally broke down) because gas was $3.77. The sad thing is that Wal Mart gas was jammed packed with everyone trying to load up on "cheap" gas.
Last Fri. I stopped at a garage sale and got to chatting with the woman running the sale. She wanted to run around to some garage sales but was thinking twice because of the gas. She also said that her nephew was working part time but had to quit his job because he couldn't afford both a baby sitter and gas. He is now on welfare. I really think there will be mass unemployment before the government will step in.
I'm also waiting to see how bad it's going to get before something is done. I'm also tired of Bush saying Americans are going to half to cut back on their usage. I'm already driving to work only and I stop at teh stores on the way home so that I don't have to drive my van ( or if necessary drive it very little) on my days off what more does he expect. WE don't have the public transportation system that is available in most European countries.

dh went out last night after I had went to get dinner at 5, and gas went up in about the span of 4 hours - 3cents. It is about $3.87-$3.89 in my city (probably more in the next town over) for regular gas. I went to my class to take my final which is in a city about 12 miles away, and it was $3.93!!!!!! I about had a heart attack! Didn't know if I was going to make it to my class. lol. we're through using gas as much as possible. Now that my classes are over driving will be limited. Dh works 3 overnights which helps cut down on the gas, and we will pick one day a week to go grocery shopping and other errands (probably includes going to see dh's grandma who lives near there). It's about 10 miles away but that's where all the stores are. we only have a wegmans and superwalmart semi close to us. We are investing in a kid trailer for dh's bike and we will be biking and walking a lot.
