Rice Prices and Shortages
I was reading a sign in our commissary today that said they will be running low on rice due to the failed rice crop in Australia. I knew there was a rice issue - but not why. Have I had my head in the sand or did everyone know that a lot of our rice came from Australia??

I didn't know, nor would I have guessed it. I would have thought Australia was too dry to grow that kind of a crop on a large scale. Showsya what I know.

I didn't know either until I read it recently. They've been experiencing terrible drought there.
Does anyone know, is the Aussie shortage the reason some of the Asian countries have been pulling back on their exporting, or are they experiencing crop issues too?

Myramar tragedy will affect rice prices too -- and the tornadoes in Arkansas will affect it too. We grow a lot of rice in Arkansas (who would have thought that?)
