I am a nervous wreck....
It seems that my whole life is up in arms right now. We are waiting for our stimulus check to payoff a debt, we are waiting to here about a job offer for my husband, work is driving me nuts and I just had my ungrateful friends here for a visit. I feel ready to jump out of my skin. Do you ever feel like you just want to cry but can't? I feel like if one more thing happens I'm going to explode. I am usually really good at calming myself down but not this time. I just want to scream!!!!! Any suggestions on getting under control would be apprectiated!

I know just how you feel, went through this myself recently.
The only thing I can tell you is let it go.. what ever you can that is.
Waiting for you stimulus, it will come when it comes and there is nothing you can do to rush it.
Waiting to here about the job, does he have one already? I say a prayer for you.
The ungrateful friends. We all have them. They have gone home now so just forget about it.
I hope you hear some good news soon.
Cheer up and chat away at the FV to distract your mind.

We just went through the same thing too. There isn't much you can do other than try to stay calm and make the best choices you can about the things you can control.
We just finally got our finances under control again after DH was off work for 2 months, and finally that feeling of total dread is gone and I feel better.
Just keep in the back of your mind that things will get better, you just have to try to have patience while your waiting it all out! Good luck to you, hope your hubby gets the new job!

I agree with Ann, sometimes we all have hard times (for me it's pretty much everyday) but you have to keep yourself busy, this will keep you from worrying and God Bless you, I pray things will turn out just fine for you.

Go ahead & scream, it feels good to just do that every once in a while. Finish it off with a nice bubble bath, do your nails and get outside and look for good stuff. Feel that sun on your face, listen to the birds, smell the flowers and know that even though things are bumpy, there is good stuff to balance it out. Hang in there.

Funny you should mention this!
I was walking into work this morning... wondering.... "did I give out bad Karma or something?"
Things are happening to me that are causing some undue stress!
2 weeks ago.. Food poisoning
last week.... anaphylatic reaction to latex.
yesterday.... sudden onset of unrelenting ankle pain with no apparent cause. It just suddenly happened.
While hobbling in excrutiating pain... I wondered....

The only suggestion I can give you is to......SCREAM!!!!!!!!!! and let it all out! Thats what I do.....you can laugh...it's ok.....I sometimes get so much frustration built up that I literally feel like I am choking. SO I SCREAM!! then I feel better. Now I am laughing at myself for being so silly...but hey, it works!
I pray that things get better for you.
When the world knocks you to your knees, remember that your in the perfect position to pray.

Yep, a good scream or cry or both will let all that tension go. Scream into a pillow if you have to.
“When you get to the end of all the light you know
and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown,
faith is knowing that one of two things will happen:
you will be given something solid to stand on,
or you will be taught how to fly.” - Edward Teller
“Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
there are signs that the world is speedily
coming to an end;
bribery and corruption are common; children no
longer obey their parents;
every man wants to write a book and the
end of the world is evidently approaching.”
— From a translation of an inscription on
an Assyrian clay tablet, circa 2800 B.C.E.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

If and when you get the chance, borrow from the library or buy (used if possible) Joel Osteen's Your Best Life Now. It's an awesome book and has some fantastic insights on how we cope with just such situations. In the meantime, I echo Darlene's advice. Get it out and let it go. Do something really nice for yourself and enjoy a good, homecooked meal. Take a bubble bath, read a good book and go to bed early. It'll be ok, really it will.

Thanks everyone for your encouraging words! I feel a little calmer right now. We got word that we should get our stimulus check by Friday! My husband hasn't gotten an offer yet but they promised him something by the end of the week. He does currently have a job but we are hoping that this will be better income with more growth opportunity for him. We'll see!
The best thing I did today was pull up my 2005 budget spread sheet and take a look. In January of 2005 we had approximately $125,000 worth of credit card, student loan, tax, and car debt.
This doesn't include our mortgage. As of today we have approximately $44,000 worth of credit card debt only! We have paid off both cars, my student loan and the back tax we owed! We were transfered to Virginia two years ago and were able to purchase a very nice house that we absolutely love. I know when people look below and see my current c.c. debt I get all kinds of comments but now maybe everyone will understand how far we have come! Realizing this helped refocus my attitude a lot. I need to remember that although I have stressful days, I still have a great life and things are really good. So thanks again all of you! I hope you all have a great week/month/year!!!!!!

I like to take a fast 30 minute walk when I'm ready to scream. Exercise really seems to help my mood.
