    Default Kirby, GRRRRR

What is it with sales people? I have a red sign on my front door next to the door bell that says NO solicitors. Yet Kirby rings my door bell several times a year.
For starters I already have a Kirby and don't even like it enough to buy another one. Secondly , I have a sign on the door that says you aren't welcome. And thirdly , you were just here last month and I told you the same thing then.

I used to live behind gates that didn't allow any solicitors, I miss that.
I feel bad, its hard for me to say no when I know these people are just trying to make a living but honestly , get a clue.

My mil lives way out in the country and they even come to her door. Please they would have to sell two just to cover the gas. Do they bother you as much as they come around here? I feel like it's crazy, ding dong every day.

I know the feeling. They come hre constantly...plus I have a Kirby too and although it does clean well the thing is too heavy to care up and down the stairs.

I've never had one come to my house. But, I never answer my door unless I know who it is anyway. My house, my choice. Our office/den is in the front of the house and I can see whoever comes to the door from there. And I'd never buy from someone selling that way either.

They are taught that all you can say is no, so why not knock? I absolutely hate being annoyed by someone at my door. We get the teens/college students selling magazines around here a lot. I have to be out-right rude to them to get them to shut up. I feel your frustration!

I don't answer the door if I don't know them. My dogs bark and its a fight to get them outside so that I can answer the door so I just don't.

I think I need to get a large dog. And I need to remember to use the peep hole. I am normally in the back of the house, to see out the front I have only one window and I can't see who is at the front door from it very well.

My little, but very vocal, dog barks her head off at anyone or anything that sets foot on the front porch. Our front door is all glass so she can see out. She pokes her nose around the curtain, leans on the door and barks until whoever/whatever leaves.

It is a PITA to get her out of the room to answer the door, so I don't even bother answering it.

We had a visit from a Kirby guy a few years ago. He stayed in our house for 3 HOURS!!! Even though I told him I didn't want it, my husband, who does not vacuum, said we needed it. So, we spent $1,400 on a vacuum cleaner that is at this moment collecting dust in our garage. Why? Because the sheer weight of the thing aggravates my back, because the cost of the bags is ridiculous, and because you have to practically disassemble the thing to use any of the attachments. We have since gone to Walmart and gotten a Dirt Devil bagless. We love it.

I don't answer the door for anyone that doesn't look like a neighbor/friend/family member (and sometimes I don't answer the door for those on the list) .

I don't answer the door, either. I also have a sign right there at eye level that says NO SOLICITING but they choose to ignore it. Sometimes it's someone trying to collect for a charity and I get mad that they think they are not soliciting, like the phone calls I get from charities. I just hang up on them as soon as they say who they are.

My DH allowed one of those salespeople into our home one day right after I had a major surgery. I tried to tell him, but did he listen? NO!!
I got so frustrated with the whole thing I told the kid...I'm sorry, but I have to leave now, if I don't, I may bleed to death, and no matter how well that vacuum works, I am sure it wont take blood out of my carpet. Poor guy....lol!

I have never had a Kirby salesman come to my door, ever, or any other salesman. I have, however, had the occasional Jehovah's Witness stop by. I used to answer for them not knowing it was them - they'd send a sweet little old lady or young woman with kids. I've learned to recognize them for the most part and just pretend they aren't at the door knocking.
