Default DH's company put them all in shock.....

My husband works for a small family run heating and air company. Most days that's a good thing. They are loyal to thier employees as long as the employees are loyal to the comapany. Most of these guys could make more money working somewhere else but the atmosphere works for them so they stick around. Yesterday the boss came out and told them they'd all be getting .50 an hour raises to help compensate for gas prices.

    :surprise: then

By the time taxes come out we're probably looking at about $13 a week. It doesn't cover our gas increase but its still $13 a week.

    What a wonderful gesture.

That IS a really nice gesture!

It's not much... but the fact that they did it... in today's economy.. is outstanding. IMO.

For an AC company that is great. Just one thing- your dh has to pay for his own gas? Mine has a company gas card. At it's a small family company.

Congratulations to your DH and the Company. Not too many small companies see that they can afford to do that or they just don't want to give up the profit. Your DH is quite lucky.

Wow, what a great company! Especially since their cost of doing business is most likely going up, too.

You are right the .50 raise was a wonderful gesture on the part of your hubby's company...more so since many workers are being asked to take major pay cuts...

I agree. It was a very nice gesture in a tough economy. Every little bit helps.

Wow, that's really nice. They must like the employees alot. That kind of business practice will help with keeping good employees, so it is a win win.

That's really cool. (Oops! No pun intended. ) I can see why your DH has stayed with them.
