    Wink Date night tonight!!!

Woo hoo! DH just called me to let me know that he was taking me out on a date tonight. The kiddos are going to my mil. I'm psyched, mostly because I don't have to make dinner!

DH and I had a nice conversation the other night and we are going to try to go out on a date every other week. We work opposite shifts (even though I only work 3 nights/week) and we miss each other.

Anyone else do set date nights?

DH and I go out on Tuesday nights, since he works Friday nights. Sometimes we just go grocery shopping or a quick meal at Taco Bell. This week we are going to see Indiana Jones.

No we don't but by golly I'm going to bring it up!!

I think that's probably our most stressful thing in our marriage is that we don't make time for each other. We're so busy with children, I am the sole support for the family (hubby is disabled).

    Have a great time!!

Cricket---I read this thread earlier and almost replied...we don't but we need to. Then it hit me! If I wait for him to plan a date night, I'll be waiting until the cows come home! So with that being said...I am making dinner reservations for 'our place' tonight, I have a coupon for 2 smoothies at Cold Stone somewhere, and we are going to go see Indiana Jones!

    THanks for inspiring me!

You go, Mrs. McDowell! You two of all couples need a date night (with him being gone for so long).

WOOHOO! Enjoy your date night with your DH. I am sure it will be fun.

We also set aside a few weekends a month to have a date night. It gives us time to 'reconnect' with each other. I wouldn't trade them.

I hope that Cricket1 and MrsMcDowell both have great dates tonight.

We do not have date night up untill now we had no money to eat out and dh's schedule didn't really allow it. But I think we need to at least make on for once a month.

    Sweet!!

It's date night for us too. Dh & I are trying to have a date night (just out to dinner) every other Thursday night. I like it, it gives us time to talk uninterrupted, I don't have to cook lol. But I do feel a smidge guilty about leaving the kids at home with leftovers (dd16 watches them).

YankeeMom and Mrs. McDowell--where are we all going to meet for our triple date??? What's in the middle of NH, NY, and Iowa?!?!?

YankeeMom--don't feel guilty, it's good for your kids to see that marriage is work, but also fun, too! One of the benefits of being a grown up! My kids get playdates all the time, it's my turn!

    Ya'all have fun!

DH and I don't have set date nights but we do try and get away; just the two of us a couple times a month or so even if it's a motorcycle ride, lunch and back home.

When things were tougher for us, we would still have a date night. Walk on the beach, grabbing a cup of coffee and watching the fishing boats come in, putting the kids to bed early and making out on the couch, etc...The point was to just spend some alone time together.

I hope everyone enjoys their date nights!

We actually started our date nights when my husband lost his job. We cut out all the non essentials, even the internet, but we allowed $10.00 per week for date night. We switched the responsibility of choosing the date every other week. We chose Tuesday because that was the night our local $1.00 theater had 50 cent admission (then we shared popcorn). We went to the movie often, but then we challenged each other to see who could come up with the best date the cheapest. It has been a lot of fun. We have been to street fairs (each get a sandwich & share the fries), a simple fast food meal & a long walk, a visit to the local gardens & a milkshake. We kind of got off track, but this inspires me to pack a picnic & whisk him off to the lake! Luckily we have come to terms with the job loss & are working things out.As you can see, we feel comfortable enough to get the internet!

Everyone have fun on your dates!
