We rent at a local store that is right beside the Movie Gallery. The MG is $3.89 to rent a movie. The local is 2 for $5 and on Mondays all movies are $1. We haven't even been renting them lately.

I don't know when the last time I went to a movie theater. I use cablevision for movies (have one on demand channel). Only once in a while will I rent a movie on cable. Sure it takes a while to see the latest and greatest movie, however it is really hard for me to justify going to a movie if it will be on cable soon. Sometimes I think I am to frugal. LOL

We just started renting from the machines like they have at McD's and at our 2 local grocery stores. They are only $1.00 per night for new releases. The trick is getting there before they are picked over. Usually you have to return them pretty early the next day too (7pm and 9pm in our case).

I love REDBOX...I can get on-line and reserve the movies I want and go and pick them up. I also signed up on their site and I get free codes and Mondays & Wed for free rentals. It is AWESOME...I don't know if you have any near you or not. I totally agree otherwise, WAY TO EXPENSIVE!!!!
