frugalnurse is right. when my uncle got into a accident she couldnt treat him if he was in her unit. when she worked at miami valley hospital she was in the coronary (sp? sry) intensive care unit and at dayton heart i dont know if its the same or not. if she had been a l&d nurse then i would definitly have wanted her there when i delivered merrick if he had been delivered in any hospital.

I absolutely would not allow anyone in my family to treat me or my kids! My dad would be treating strep with a salt water gargle and a dirty sock around the neck. Anything else gets ice, neosporin, campho phinique, aspirin or a combination of the above.

My unborn baby is due on my mother's birthday, and Mom has always wanted one of her grandchildren to have the same birthday. My doctor said that I shouldn't deliver past 38 weeks due to the risk of a rupture that would put my life and the life of my baby in jeopardy.

When I told my mom this, she told me to "Suck it up and stop being such a sissy."

    Yeah, uh, no thanks.

Of course, they're not doctors, but you know, if they were...

I worked for doc's before and had any script I needed or wanted too.
    soooo true!
I went to work with my mom when I was pretty young for "take your daughter to work day"
and I asked her if the doctors were there to bring more coffee so the nurses didn't get meaner
    LOL
I thought the nurses did everything and the docs were coffee go-fers

Are you sure you really have proper care going on for you now?

So what's new with your blood test?

    Just thinking about you.

I didn't say it doesn't happen. It does.

And well.. there's a HUGE difference in health care in Alabama, Indiana and Florida... than say... Idunno..... Massachusetts.

Pharmacies fill prescriptions. They don't police the doctors. A doctor can have a patient with the same name. Not unusual.

Will they get caught? ... probably not.
Does it taint their reputation to think in an unclouded, unbiased clinical reasoning and differential? Absolutely.
Why would I risk that?... why would I have anyone I know risk that?

Just ask your MD family member for the best referral. The MD you are referred to ~ WILL give you the BEST care because he's acting on a good referral and isn't clouded by personal issues.
