I got it! I got it!
I found out late this afternoon that I finally got approved and have received the caregiver's grant I applied for wayyyy back in December!
It's for $800 and must be used by October. You choose an agency from the list provided and the money is credited to the agency account. Then whenever DH and I need a respite sitter we just call the agency with the day and hours we need and it gets deducted from the grant money.
DH and I can still barely believe it. It's hard to believe that it took 6 months to get a yes or no answer, but the wait was worth it if it means a break. Even better, we can reapply next year!

You will feel so much better with getting a break for yourselves. You might even feel like a new person.

Great news.
" May we never let the things we can’t have or don’t have or shouldn’t have spoil our enjoyment of the things we do have and can have. As we value our happiness, let us not forget it. One of the greatest lessons in life is learning to be happy without the things we cannot or should not have."
