Default Do you know anyone who lives in a "imaginary world?"

I know someone like this. She's lives by herself and doesn't hardly talk to anyone. I'm amazed that she's able to work full-time. Her house looks like a play house for kids and she doesn't have children.

I dont know anyone like that, but could it be that she just isn't ready to grow up (I get like that sometimes)... maybe she longs for children but cant seem to find the right person for her. Maybe she needs a friend?

Sometimes I like to pretend like I have everything under control and have all the answers.

That's probably not what you mean, though...

It does sound a little bizarre, but I guess if she is able to fulfill her responsibilities (paying bills, feeding herself, etc), she's just living her life her way.

My ex husband left me for his dream woman because she's a drunk and I wouldn't go out to drink with him.I valued my life too much when I wasn't allowed to drive home because men can drive better. But of course he was on the wrong side of the road trying to hit semi's and taking curves straight. So he left me for her because she's so much fun.I think reality has set in tho since he complains to our DD that he has to do everything for her and she's drunk everyday by the time he gets home from work.He has to take her to the bathroom and do everything for her there, give her a bath put her to bed. He's even trying to potty train her.The same things I used to do working in nursing homes and he told me he'd never do that kind of nasty work. But he sure didn't mind that I supported him the first five years with that kind of nasty work, because he couldn't find a job he wanted. He cooks, cleans does laundry, mows the yard you name it.Got exactly what he deserves and I sit here laughing at him.

Maybe her job provides sufficient social interaction that she prefers not to add to it on her off time. Not sure what your description of her house means - I always think of playhouses as being on a small scale. Anyway, it doesn't necessarily sound harmful to me.

As long as she's paying her bills and coping otherwise
then I see no problem with it. She's not hurting anyone?
I don't like talking to people much in person.
I'm not one to have people around much or go places like movies and stuff.

I remember a lady I use to work with a long ago who lived in her own little world and didn't/wouldn't let anyone other than her parents invade it.

She was a very pretty and elegant lady. Her hair was always just so, makeup perfect and she carried herself like the ladies of long ago. She was a very nice person though.

I think Ms. Noel said in another thread that posts tend to get lost when they do updates... or something like that.
