    Angry Stuppid washer!

I am so mad right now! My goal today was to get all the laundry done.. NOT gonna happen. My way over priced piece of fancy crap is broken, again. I realize I bought it scratch and dent but give me a break. This machine is only 2 yr old and this will the the fifth time. The first time the machine was a lemon so they traded me. Second third and forth have all been the same part. This time I don't know what to do because the warranty just ran out and I don't have the money to fix it. If I remember right its a 350.00 part. So here I sit with two giant baskets full of dirty laundry and a wet load in the machine. I am gonna call them and give them an ear full and if it is 300+ to fix it I will just get a new cheap machine and drop this one off at the front door.

    Ann,

I am soooo sorry this happened to you, maybe it's time to invest in a new one with a 5 year or so warranty. Until then can you wash clothes at the laundromat?

Or just look around at auctions and garage sales for a new one. We got ours for $65 and it was only 2 years old.

Ditto on garage sales/house sales and craigslist if you have one in your area!

((((hugs)))) sounds like you are having a rough day. What brand is your machine if you don't mind sharing...I would like to stay away from any brand that malfunctions as often as yours seems to have. Are you sure they didn't extend the warrenty period when they had to fix it? Sometimes if you rattle the right cage you can get them to honor a recently expired warrenty.

Whooo hoooo-- thanks , I did rattle the cage and I got them to agree to come out! They say they will fix it for free. I am going to make sure that dh is here when they come and I want him to tell them they either extend the warranty for life or replace the machine for a better one. When is works, it works really well and I have been pleased with its performance other then the breaking .

It is an LG front loader. Normally they are very pricey but I got this one at a scratch and dent sale for 50% off. Lesson learned, wont be buying anymore scratch and dent. I feel that this is a good brand and normally this wouldn't happen it's just that this particular machine was bad because it was apparently dropped off the fork lift and thats why is was so cheap.

sorry about your washer Ann. I'm glad that they agreed to come fix it though. It seems whenever we buy any pricey appliances, those are the ones to break (right after the warranty is over, of course), but the cheapo washer we got has lasted 10 years now and is still going strong.

Does any one know what the lemon laws are for appliances? I'm thinking that this is actually the third time on the same part, wouldn't it stand to reason that this part will fail again.

The repair man just called me this morning and said he will be out tomorrow, unfortunate for me I have wet clothes sitting in the machine. I told dd I was going to teach her how to use the washboard.LOL

I like the idea of dropping it off at the front door!! LOL!! Wouldn't be great to park just far enough away to see there faces when they came out!!! That would totally make my day!!! Anyway, good luck with the situation and I hope everything works out fine!!!

I hope they fix it for free. but even if they do I would be on the lookout for another washer. Go with Whirlpool. Havent had any trouble with mine... knock wood

I don't know about the lemon laws but I'd definitely write the manufacturer. I had a Whirlpool oven that I put a $100 part in starting the 3rd year we owned it, once a year for 6 years. I finally got so mad that I stopped using the daggum thang and just did without an oven for about 5 years. I should raised bloody heck with Whirlpool over it but didn't. I won't buy another oven from them though.
