    Default Ugh! Car Wreck!

Well yesterday I loaned out my car during a family dinner to one of my brothers to make a WalMart run for something. He ran off the road and wrecked pretty bad but he's fine. Thank goodness.
Anyways, definite money set back as I have a totaled car that I had been using without a a problem for years and hoped to use for several more. Bought with cash a 90's( about the same year as my car) car today with fairly high milage (140,000) but what an unexpected and expensive mishap but I certainly didn't want a car payment!
Gonna be a very hard month to make ends meet now but we'll see, at least I didn't have to go into any debt even if it did take me clearing out my savings, emergency fund and cash in the safe lol. Certainly back on this site for awhile!

Will insurance cover any of this? If you are like a lot of us - once it's paid for your just carry liability if it's an older car. Sorry to hear about. If you had car seats in there - make sure you or your the insurance company replaces those. Hopefully brother will pitch in - you need your wheels!

I would hope that the insurance would be paying out some for the totalled vehicle so you don't have to come up with all of the money yourself. I am sorry to hear about your car, but glad your brother is ok!

Oh no, no big deal. I just felt like complaining a bit lol. No, no car seats in the car at the time. I did just have liability since it was paid off. I had to buy another right quick this weekend to get back and forth to work. What a pain in the butt!
( And no, I don't plan on having my brother pay for anything. He's 16. He doesn't have the money and it was certainly an accident.) Oh well, just gonna be even more cheap (if that's possible!) for a little while and build the savings back up.

Awww...glad your brother's ok, but yes, that sucks. LOL..was there a porcupine involved ???

It's probably best that you paid for another yourself rather than put it thru insurance to keep your premiums down. Sorry it happened, and I hope you get your fund built back up quickly
And I hope your brother realizes he's got an AMAZING sister for taking it so well!!!

So glad to hear your brother is unharmed though I'm sure he is upset over it since he hasn't been driving long at all.

ROFL..... That will be what you think anytime there is an accident after your porcupine misfortune.

Anyway, I am glad your brother is fine. It could have been much worse. Thank goodness you had some money so you could go ahead and get another car. You sound like a great sis. Hopefully you will get past this bad luck soon.
