We are going to visit our son in California around the 4th of July! I thought they would come here, but it is easier for us to go. I hope you have a wonderful time. Our son lives in La Jolla(San Diego area.) I like the area, beautiful and lots to do and see!

We are back! We had great flights with no hitches. We had several people to get thru the airports: Kansas City, Oakland, Denver. Had Mom and Dad in wheelchairs, son and granddaughter, sister, another sister with her hubby and sons, a niece and her hubby, another niece. But we all made it and enjoyed flight time to just talk. Oh yes, my aunt and uncle came also.

Once in CA, we were super busy getting everything prepared for the wedding. The reception was outdoors, so it was tricky to get set up for so many guests without having everything fly away! The groom is Filipino so the reception had a wonderful array of ethnic foods that we all found yummy. Most interesting was the whole roasted pig!

Prairie Rose: about the cake. The bride and groom both do not like cake, so we had cheese cake. It was quite the hit!

My little granddaughter, age 7, had never flown before so she was quite agaga about this trip. We didn't do a lot of sightseeing, but she wanted to see the ocean and walk in it. So she got to do that. Also went to Muir Woods and San Francisco. Granddaughter also was fascinated by the palm trees and wanted a picture of that. I was asking her on the way back how CA was different from Iowa (where she lives). After mulling the question, she replied, "Traffic!"

But the wedding went well, we had a good family time, and safe travel. Now the grandkids are here with us for a week, and then we set off on another trip!
