Smile there are still nice people in this world, despite the heat

Dh had another late night. He got home after 9, but despite that; I talked with a customer that understood. Those are far and few between. Dh left the house 6am yesterday to start his day on service calls and checking on the status of a job that an employee was doing. Dh had a list of calls to see about and knew it was going to be a late night. Around 8pm he called me and asked for me to call a customer that was last on his list to let them know that it was going to be AFTER 9pm before he got to them but he was still planning to come out. I called. The husband answered. Notice I didn't say DH. He complained that he was hot and that his a/c wasn't working at all!!!!! and wanted my DH out there ASAP! I calmly told him that DH was still coming. I don't know what his wife told him but I got a call back very shortly after that from his DW. She was as nice as could be. She said for my DH to come on home and not to worry about them. They would go to a hotel for the night. She said that he needed to be home with his family and get some rest. She would be back at their home in the morning (today) and would see him then. I thanked her and almost cried on the phone. I did after we hung up. Dh still got home after 9 but was earlier than planned. I called DH this morning to see how things went on the call. DH said that she was happy to see him but not so happy when she was told that a new compressor was needed and would be tomorrow before getting one. She still was nice and is planning on another night in the hotel.

I can relate. My dh is in AC also and has had many nights that he doesn't get to his last call until 8 or 9. People aren't normally nice about it. I am glade someone had pity on him.

My husband is a carpenter and I am an office manager for a General Contracting company, and while I don't have to scheduled calls like a HVAC service would, I know what it is like! I feel for ya.

I tried to turn my AC on Friday and the motor has burnt up, I called our guy on Saturday and told him that he didn't have to come out on the weekend, he came on Monday but of course everyone else is having the same problems so our parts have been sold out, it will probably be the end of the week before it gets here. But we are surviving.

It's so nice when customers are nice! DH worked in roofing for years and had his share of people who were just nasty about nothing!

I still remember, DH worked late one night out on a farmhouse. We were suppose to get rain the next morning, so with the owner's permission, they worked until about 11 pm (set up lights and everything to work) and got it done.

The farmer was so grateful, he sent DH home with a case of honey and 18 tomato plants for our garden! I thought that was so nice of them!

It is wonderful that she was so understanding, hopefully he has more customers like that over the summer!
