No, really, I mean it, cancel my account
Tried to cancel my eFax number today. Don't need it anymore - only needed it when we were buying the rental property...
Can't do it automatically. Have to talk to a "live chat" CSR.
Oi vey, at least it wasn't on the phone:
You TRY to be nice, ya know?Welcome to chat.
The session has been accepted.
{PushyCSR R.} Hello, Greebo. Welcome to j2 Global online support. I am PushyCSR, your online Live Support Representative. How are you doing today?
{Greebo} Hello, I am fine. I would like to cancel my account please - we no longer need it.
{PushyCSR R.} I'm sorry to hear that you wish to cancel. Could you please provide me with your fax number and the PIN?
{Greebo} 1-234-567-8900
{Greebo} and the pin is 666
{PushyCSR R.} Thank you for providing your information. Please give me a moment while I go through your records. In the meantime, please type the number corresponding to your reason for cancellation:
1) Moving to another provider
2) Bought a fax machine
3) Business or role changed
4) Short term project completed
5) Financial reasons
6) Problems with faxing or billing
7) Dissatisfied with quality of service
8) Too costly
{Greebo} 4
{PushyCSR R.} Greebo, we understand that you may have limited use of our service at present. As a special offer, we will waive the monthly fee for two months. You may need this number during this time and your faxing needs may also change in the future. This way you will be able to use our service to its fullest benefits.
{PushyCSR R.} We will credit your eFax account with $33.90 which will cover for the monthly fee for the next two billing cycles.
{PushyCSR R.} During this time, you will not be charged any monthly fees. If you decide that you do not have any use for our services after this period, you can contact us back. We are available 24 hours/7days, to immediately process your request. Would you like that?
{Greebo} No, thank you, please just cancel.
{PushyCSR R.} Greebo, I do understand your decision to discontinue. However, since you will not be charged any monthly fee for the next two months you may keep the account till then. There is certainly no obligation to stay back after this period if you do not wish to. During this two months credit period even if you use the service once we will be more than happy that we were able to serve you.
{PushyCSR R.} Also as a good will gesture to continue our association we will offer you an additional gift balance of $10 along with the monthly credit which will enable to send up to 100 additional fax pages free of cost within US and Canada.
{PushyCSR R.} You can atleast give it a try for the next two months. If you determine during this credit period, that you do not wish to continue your service, we are available any time to assist you with your request.
{Greebo} If I have to repeat myself again, I will simply call my bank, and put a block on any future attempts to draw payment, and NEVER come back if I need this service again. Do I make myself clear?
Stop with the script, cancel my account, this is not a request. Thank you.
{PushyCSR R.} Okay, I understand and respect your decision to cancel. I will cancel your account immediately.
{PushyCSR R.} I’m sorry that you are leaving eFax. Please do consider us if your faxing needs should change in the future.
{PushyCSR R.} Is there anything else I can assist you with today?
{Greebo} No, thank you. That will be all. Have a nice day!If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Unfortunately (and trust me, I HATE cancelling things because they always try making the we can do this for you offers) they are required to make those offers. If a supervisor reviews the call for any reason (they randomly do this sometiems) and they didn't at least try to get through the entire script, they could be fired.

I know - they have to do it. But sheesh, after going through enough of these scripts, I just don't CARE enough to keep saying, "no thank you".

Same situation when DH cancelled our Discover CC. The Discover Rep wouldn't take "NO" for an answer.
Direct TV is always tring to sell us more channels. I hate that. We are on the $30 program and I wish we could have no TV but DS loves Noggin.

LOL, I thought you were cancelling your account here, too. My cable's been out for more than 24 hours from a bad storm. I saw this title first thing and thought, Holy cow, what kind of stuff went down here while I was gone?!?! lol
I'm glad you're not leaving Greebo!
