I'm Getting Spooked
Dh received some emails from the higher-ups of the company that he works for....
due to the gas prices, the company has just laid off 14 employees & they want the techs to limit their personal use of the company vans - which is okay w/us b/c dh does this anyway. The company is okay with picking up groceries if the store is on the way to or from a job site.....also they want the techs to record their numbers on their odometers everytime they have something job-related to do.
The lay-offs are what are scaring me - its too fresh in my memory of the six months of unemployment that we had to deal w/ 2 yrs ago when I was expecting Zach......I am so afraid of having to go through unemployment again.

hugs and sparklies to apes & cannon & anyone else worried about these things, I hope things turn out okay for everyone.
DH has been through a lot of econmic downsizing, so I totally get the worry and dread, holding your breath looking for signs of what's coming. We joke that hiring him is guaranteed to bring a company down. It even happened to Walter Reed!
Where he's at right now *seems* solid, on the way up, expanding, knock on wood, please please please -- as opposed to companies who hired him when they were already on the way down. But I'm still flinchy and distrusting.

positive thoughts and good luck to your family. DH's company is downsizing as well, although his job isn't in immediate danger, they have cut way back on his hours.

Sorry to hear about your stress and worry......From reading about you and your life I would say that you already do all the right things, (stockpiling, ect...) you live well and frugal and I know that no matter what you will thrive!
