My PSA for the day...
Ok, I just wanted to make a quick note about the temperatures outside!
If your feeling like you want to do your good deed for the day, try to remember those people who have to work outside in the heat. I know an offer of bottled water, glass of lemonade or anything cold to drink would be appreciated by mailmen, garbage men, city workers, etc.
DH is a residential recycler (I hate saying garbage man, cuz that isn't actually what he does
), and he went through 2 gallons of water by noon, when he ran out completely. He had 2 people offer him bottles of cold water today, and it made his day.
So, I just wanted to make a note of this, for those who might think it is weird to walk up to them while they are working and make the offering. Trust me, they will appreciate it big time.
Ok, that is my public service announcement for the day... I'll be stepping down from my soap box now!

A great reminder! I'm never home during the day, but I see exactly where this would be such a blessing.

Excellent PSA Sarah! My DH is a landscaper, and he always tells me when someone offers him a cold drink! It doesn't happened all that often, but it is certainly appreciated!
Bought my new oven 1/08 and loving it!
My recurrent nightmare is there is no such thing as PMS, and this is my real personality.

Yep! That's a great idea! When did we lose our manners? Years ago, this wouldn't even be a question, it would be automatic!

I do this every summer. I started it a few years back when it was really hot and I had one of them ask me for a glass of water.
I now keep bottled water for them in my fridge.
I have 3 trucks come to my house every week.

I usually miss the yard waste and recycling as they come early morning. But the trash show up about 2 or 3 and if I am home they get water.Debra

Totally agree with you!!!! My DH works outside, right now they are swamped (literally) rebuilding peoples basements from all the flooding that we have had. They love it everyone needs to stay hydrated working outside.
