Iowa Floods
Please be praying for those in the Midwest that have been affected by the floods.
I live in Iowa and my town is not in danger. However, all around me is flooding. Many of the major cities including Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, and Waterloo are flooding. Many farm fields are flooded and some areas are cut off by flood waters.
I have have friends in Iowa City that have been evacuated from their homes and businesses.
If you want to see flood pictures, here are a few good websites.

I am praying for those in the Midwest and especially Iowa right now. My Mother originated from Iowa and there are a few distant relatives there as well as the gravesites of my ancestors. Praying for the storms to end and that all are well.

Yeah, in my thoughts. The weather has been almost record breaking. It's pretty bad here too.
Take care.

We even had it on the news here!
Since I know you have all been in my thoughts.
My friend lives in WI near Milwaukee, and due to heavy rain the graduation of her dd took place in the gym, this meant that she could only bring 4 people in, so grandpa had to stay home.*even the worriest day ends at midnight*

We live in the suburbs of Des Moines...our home won't be affected thank god, but the flooding is awful. It's so scary. I really urge every one (again) to go to the websites listed above and look at the pictures. You can't fathom it unless you see it.
In Cedar Rapids, there was a railway bridge loaded down with about 20 railroad cars that were filled with sandbags and rocks.....whole thing gave way and floated down river.
And all this plus the Wisconsin flooding is going to head down river to my hometown in Illinois.

It is really hard for me to see the pictures of Iowa City. I lived there for 8 years. The power of water is amazing. All we can do is hope, pray, and wait.

I too have Iowa and its residents in my thoughts. I hope that everyone stays safe.
I haven't kept up with the news, so thank you for posting, I am going to check on my bestfriend's family. Her inlaws are in Bedford, IA, southwest of Des Moines.
