Y Chromosome approaching
I have been remiss in actually, properly introducing myself. As an old vBulletin user, I tend to go right to New Posts and dive into topics of interest, so if I violated some custom of which I was unaware, I apologize.
I am Greebo. I am opinionated, strong willed, and not afraid to speak my mind. I will (and have) rub some of you the wrong way. I can live with that, hopefully you can too.
I am a 39 year old Software Developer/Senior Consultant from Baltimore Maryland, originally from Wheeling, West By-God Virginia. (By-God not expressed as an endorsement of any religion) I have an outstanding wife who has tolerated my "free spirited" financial ways for a very long time, and who has very skillfully introduced me to Dave Ramsey, and to Frugal Village. I'm sure you will all want to thank her for that, so you can just keep guessing who she is, cause if I out her, she'll kill me.
(She's afraid of the backlash!)
My primary interests are computers, although of late I have been diversifying into real-estate, and am now working on a plan to retire by 50, if at all possible. Stage 1, debt freedom.
I have been participating on online forums since before there was an internet. I ran my first bulletin board on an Atari 120 XE, on a 300 baud modem, in 1985. I've done BBS, FIDO, Usenet, and forums.
I have a wide range of interests, from philosophy, to politics, finance to technology, etc.
We have to be at the restaurant in 30 minutes, so I will add more to this later. I'm supposed to be on vacation this week...so I'm not supposed to post as much as I usually do.
I absolutely intend to stay offline.
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"
Greebo(Nerd Spender): Loving and extremely patiently tolerated husband of ceashels.
WARNING: Y Chromosome behind the keyboard. Adjust your listening filters appropriately!

So it was YOU 'the others' were referring to!!
Shame on you for not introducing yourself. lol!
Actually... the real polite mannered way is to be introduced by someone else who is already here.... where is she... she's here somewhere!!
Welcome!!
I am looking forward to more of your smartass posts.
And learning new things
And learning how to debate
And learning how to brush off the female noise
And , and , and...
Git back to vacationing!

Welcome! I have enjoyed your posts so far, and I think you and your Y chromosome are an excellent addition to the boards. Hmm, now I'm on a quest to figure out who Mrs. Greebo is so I can point her in your direction when you've started something
