    Wink Had a GREAT day!

Today was a great day for me!

It was the day for my cancer support group's yearly fund raiser. It is called the Walk for Hope and I belong to the "Hope Sisters" group.

The main "project" of the walk is to walk around the park that it is held in and collect money for the amount of "laps" or miles you do. I don't know anyone who would contribute but .. I did walk the laps.

Last year I did 2 1/2 laps and had to quit. This year I walked 8 laps (5.2 miles for the day (included laps and all the other walking I did as well, which is over a 5k ) and rode a "Harley" for one As a survivor, we were offered a ride for the opening lap on one of the Harley's ... never been on one but can now understand the big draw for it.

It was a great time and I feel great for being able to walk that far!

WOW! 5K.....I can only bow to you.

Now for the Harley. I have been really spoiled, my Dutch friend married an American decades ago, he works for Harley in Milwaukee. When I visited them last November I was part of the Milwaukee Christmas Parade on the back of his motor, together with quite a bunch of Harley employees. It was GREAT! We were on local TV and all, isn't that amazing. The part where my toes froze off we won't discuss, lol

Thanks for all your kind remarks. After having a knee surgery, osteoarthritis, and several problems with my feet, it is great to be able to walk at all.

dh has been "hinting" about wanting a harley .. course we would have to sell our house to afford one After the very short ride .. I can see the attraction to all that power between your legs *snickers*

    Wink

My "goal" for this year was 10 .. and I almost made it. Had to sit on the curb half way through the last lap so I knew I was done. I don't feel bad cause it was a LOT more then I thought I could actually do.

Next year, I think I will go for 12 and one harley lap I hope the same guy is there ... he was really nice to me. AND he had a heavy duty bike I didn't have to worry about being too big for.
