Default Hey Darlene, how high is the creek?

I just saw on the weather channel you all got 4.5 inches of rain last night. Is the creek staying in it's banks? You guys okay?

    Thinking of you.

We're fine, only got about 2" here, not sure what upstream got. Storms just pick & chose where they wanted to dump. Didn't come up much at all & is going down fast, it does look all muddy out there tho, brown water isn't to purdy. The creek really got stirred up. It was something when it was raining tho, just went on & on & on.
    Thanks for thinking of me.

I am glad to hear that you are ok and the creek didn't rise very much. I am sure it can be pretty scarey at times when all that rain comes pouring down.

It's scariest in the winter & spring when the reservoir upstream is pretty full & you get a quick snow melt or heavy rains. This time of year the creek is very low and unless we get mega amounts of rain we are ok. Hubby really wants to move and be high and dry.
Feel so bad for the people of Iowa. If that were us I'd be homeless. Have some flood insurance (believe it or not our house isn't in the "flood plane") but it is only for our basement and it's contents.
Like the pics in the gallery show, it sure is pretty when it's within it's banks. going to look & see if I can find more flood pics to add.
