    so, as a gun carrying citizen, could I have shot the man?!?!?! (just in case I ever come across anyone doing this?)

    another question, how could have several people not have gotten that man to quit. a blunt object to the head would have stopped him

    I believe you can. Even if it's not legal I doubt any jury would convict you. Google search Concealed Carry Forums and they will be able to answer your question for sure. I will ask hubby too.

    As for the citizens not being able to stop him.....it sounds to me like the guy was hopped up on drugs. If someone's on PCP, not many things can stop them. I was trying to place myself in the situation as a bystander, you know, like what would I do? (Other than shooting him with my revolver or spraying him with my oc spray). I doubt with the state of mind this man was in that attempting to stop him wouldn't do much good. My first reaction would be to shield the child like by dropping to the ground and using my body to cover his...

    How sad. This makes me physically sick to my stomach.

    I once seen a guy, mid 20's, repeatedly being hit in the head with beer bottles (not breaking at times) in an attempt to stop him from beating his dad. He was so high on drugs that he never felt it.

    Where is God? I don't know that this child was destined to die this way. I can't believe several vehicles stopped and no one tried to stop the man. There are strength in numbers. I'm glad he was shot to death. Tax dollars won't have to pay for a trial and his care. Sorry to be so harsh, but when it comes to protecting children I can be extreme.
