I agree with you 100% - however you threw the original post out there laughing at others without laughing at yourself first. It appeared (I realize its proably not the case) that you didn't stat laughing at yourself until other people got offended.

Take it however you want. Personally, I'd never post something making fun of others if I wasn't willing to laugh at myself. IMO, life's too short to get upset over this kind of thing.

And, it would have been a little odd to write, "Hey guys...I'm a Democrat...isn't that hysterical!?!?! Now...let's make fun of the republicans." Hard to laugh at yourself first...but I'm always willing to do it.

I'm voting Democrat because I rather have a single mother raise her child with help from the gov't(God forbid) then a Rebulican ripping her apart for even thinking about abortion, yet you want the damn gov't to take over her body, but you cry over your tax dollar to help her and her unborn child. I'm sure she will be proud when she will make history being the first black ever first lady and beautiful as she is. Darn her for fighting through the stats and her family being poor and getting a college eduction.

I thought we were all just supposed to be laughing at ourselves here....sigh. I really didn't want to start a political arguement with my reply. I just thought since there was a Republican bashing video, it was only fair that a Democrat bashing list be put here, too.

Maybe so, but having me pay more taxes so the gov't can help fund my own retirement (see Obama's plan) is a lack of faith that I know how to spend my own money.

I agree...The US will never solve their problems of them fighting over land for thousands of generations..We are the great whore anyways...
I'm not sure what you agree with - the actual statement of not needing national security and that talking it out is the answer. Or my sarcasm....either way, they aren't just fighting over their land. They are trying to take over the world - and we're their biggest target.

    Ever heard of George Bush?
Well, that's a persuasive arguemnt. One thing I read about liberals in a book a while back (a book written by a liberal) - was that conservatives tend to argue points and liberals tend to complain about what's already wrong.

I'm not a fan of GW.

I'm voting Democrat because I rather have a single mother raise her child with help from the gov't(God forbid) then a Rebulican ripping her apart for even thinking about abortion, yet you want the damn gov't to take over her body, but you cry over your tax dollar to help her and her unborn child. Well, I'd say I care more about the entire family. I'm completely against the abortion system as it stands. I think abortion is a disgusting uncivilized practice - but its not up to me (or the govt) to preach that it shouldn't be committed. However, this whole "woman's body, woman's choice" arguement is B.S. To legally put a baby up for adoption, the father has to legally sign away his parenting rights. However, when it comes to abortion, no one cares about what the father has to say. Anyone who has ever been pregnant knows that once you conceive that baby, your body is no longer yours. Your body belongs to the baby. And that baby belongs to two people. In order for abortion to be fair (and in my mind, legal) both the mother and the father need to sign on the dotted line.

The Death penalty is flawed in so many ways.
    On this we agree 100%

I'm sure she will be proud when she will make history being the first black ever first lady and beautiful as she is. Darn her for fighting through the stats and her family being poor and getting a college eduction.
Good for her for getting a college education - what does that have to do with anything? IF she becomes the first black First Lady, she will be proud of herself and her husband. That has nothing to do with being proud of her country. What does being pretty have to do with anything? Do you remember her statement: "For the first time in my adult life, I'm proud of my country" If she's never been proud of her country, why does she (oh sorry, her husband) want to run it so badly?

Don't get me wrong...there are many, many, many, many things wrong with the Repbulican platform. In fact, I don't necessarily consider myself a full blown Republican (although I do have an elephant sticker on my car), I more consider myself a conservative (and no, they aren't the same).

I just wanted to point out some of the things wrong with the Democrat party, just like the OP pointed out some things wrong with the Republican Party. I didn't want this to turn into a debate (I don't have time for another one!)

I think, as a moderator, I'm going to close this particular thread down at this point. I didn't delete Palooka's post, because as someone responded to the points in the video with their Republican stance, I thought it only fair to also allow a Democrat to post to someone's post with their Democrat stance.

However, my point wasn't a political debate...just to post a funny video that poked fun at our system. Jessica responded with a funny list to also poke fun at our system, which I thought was equally funny. I really hadn't intended to get people's ire up. One of the greatest things about the village is that we've always been able to agree to disagree about things, and discuss them in a calm manner. When we start getting too heated, people start to check out, and that is not something that I'd like to see happen to the village.

So, we'll end it here, and people can still read it and think whatever they like as they scroll through the posts.

    America...ain't it grand?
