Does anyone else feel like this?

Please dont attack me for saying this because I really like this web site and have been coming here for years but it seems like it's getting so overwhelmed with all this add-on stuff. It's like visual noise, too much going on. Honestly I know that the juju thing is supposed to reward people who post but for those of us who can only get here once in awhile it's like we are being punnished. My juju is like -600 something. It's like a bad debt I can never get out of. I thought this board was supposed to be a place where we helped each other and supported each other getting out of debt?
It's not just the juju thing but there is all this extra stuff and it's confusing and too much. Is there a way to adjust my settings or something to make all the extra stuff go away? It's starting to make me feel very unwanted around here.
Please don't yell at me, I'm just stating how I feel. I really love this place, I just barely recognize it anymore. I was just wondering if I am the only one who feels this way?

I sorta felt overwhelmed by the new features at first but now, I'm embracing the ones I like (tags, thank you feature, arcade/juju) and ignoring the rest. Aside from some more stuff under your name, it hasn't really changed the overall experience too awful much...we're all still here talking about our frugal struggle.

Considering you can gain back 400-600 JuJus by making one or two insightful threads, I believe it is a small price to pay and you are giving back to others!

The JuJu system is put in place to reward folks that participate in some way. I understand that not everyone can be here everyday. But you can easily make it up by posting, thanking, putting tags while your surfing the forums so that it is a better place.

All of these give JuJus.

Ok, maybe I am feeling overwhelmed and that's my issue. I'll just take it one new thing at a time and see if I can figure it all out.

It took some getting used to but I really love the new features. I don't understand them all...but I love juju.

When I was younger, I would have been FRANTIC to learn all of this, feeling I HAD to.

Now, I just ignore, ignore

and then when something finally catches my eye that I want to know about, OR I get an AHA moment about something I see up there or over there, then I investigate. And if I still don't get it, so what? I'm on about 2-3 other boards, and I don't get half of the stuff that goes on there, but I've never been thrown off.

I also come here to relax and I don't sweat the small stuff. I read new announcements, and am amused by the welcome greeting above that tells me to go to bed (or do I know where my children are at 11pm). LOL! But other than that, if I can communicate with the other FV-ers, I'm happy.

I'm with you on this one. I come here to have discussions and to learn from others, now I feel like I should post more even if it really dosen't add to the discussion just so I can get more points, post numbers or juju so I can fit in. It's like my "worth" in this digital community isn't as worthy as another because they have more juju? Please, feels like highschool all over again, this posturing and jockeying for more points or whatever.
Luckily I really don't care that much about it all. However, if has made me seriously consider dropping out of the community and not coming back as it's so fragmented and I really don't feel the need to be a part of a community that puts any stock in how many points someone has or doesn't have.
I obviously seem to be in the minority with my stances on several things within this community, this issue being just one of them.
My advice to others is to just ignore that whole part of the screen and try to just interact with others, and not worry about posts, juju's, etc.

I would just ignore it all if I was you..really..do what you have always done. Really..who cares about jujus? I still don't get what it is and I've read all the posts about it..LOL..
You are a wonderful, needed part of the community no matter how big your jujus are ....LOL

Well said. I don't care for the "extras" that are seen on some messageboards where members are ranked according who has the most reputation, JuJus, character items, posts etc. It's fun but some people do get competitive to make it to the top or it may intimidate the newbies that come to the messageboard.
