Default Google today ... anyone else?

I was just on google, trying to find frugal bread and also frugal bean recipes ...

Well, 9 out of 10 sites I clicked on - it took me to advertising sites, kind of like my computer [or google] was hi-jacked.

Do you think this would be a google problem [someone did something to their site] or would there be anything on my computer somehow that would do it?

Talk about frustrating and when I go to those sites [just from google], it also wouldn't let me hit the back button.

Well, it would let me hit it [back button] but the page would not let me go back to the list of sites for my search.

Just wondering if anyone else had this happen today.

It's frustrating, I rely on google for about everything.

    Love,

    Jen

I searched for frugal gifts. I got the same thing. I'm computer illiterate so I don't know what to tell you. Have you tried about.com? They have a frugal living section. I go there quite often.

Everything is based on advertising, the sites or search engines rely on the $$$$. That's why I've been seriously considering making a monetary donation to this forum. I figure if I help pitch it will keep me from going through pop ups and other advertisements to get to where I need.

I just googled for frugal gifts and it worked perfectly. Sounds like spyware to me.

Thanks for the replies ... I just run the spyware program a few days ago, guess I'll have to do it again.

    Love,

Yep, sounds like you've got adware and/or spyware.
