Default **big sigh** DH is even more on board!!

DH had to run to the next down over. He asked if I needed anything because if he had to spend the gas to go, he might as well hit any stores I needed. So, I sent him with the ad and had him pick up a few things.

He called me from the parking lot. He had reviewed the reciept and he had bought the wrong black olives (like not the ones on sale). He called me and asked me about them. He had bought the ones that he thought I usually bought not realizing that I don't have a "usual kind" and that I buy what is on sale. He even went back in, returned the wrong ones, and bought the correct ones.

It has been a long hard road, but he is on board. He so wouldn't have returned them a few years ago.

WOW! What a guy! My hubby doesn't seem to mind picking things up, but forget about returning something. He's offered me the difference in price out of his own pocket 'cause he's just too embarassed and he thinks he looks stupid for buying the wrong thing. I try to tell him otherwise, but he really feels that way and I love him too much to embarass him. Just not worth the few extra cents, kwim?

So it's great your DH is on board with you. I say "keep him"! LOL

Well DH stopped on the way home from work on Thursday and picked up a few things at a store that is not close to my house but he drives by. I had him get a watermelon. I went to cut it open on Friday and it was all mushy. We both tasted it and spit it out it was not good.
Well I told him that he is going to have to stopped back with the receipt and tell them that it was bad and get a new one.
He will have to do this tomorrow as he has had the last 3 days off. So I will see if he comes home with a new watermelon tomorrow.
I know if the store was not as far as it is he would be having me do it.

Oh wow, that's amazing.......I'm sure Gripey wouldn't dream of returning them. I'm so sure that I wouldn't even suggest it when he called..... He did great!

I would have a hard time getting him to go in the first place. Don't get me wrong, he's all for saving money, he just doesn't wnat to do any shopping himself! Lucky you!

What a great guy! Mine would return it, but probably not realize it until he got home. In all fairness, I probably wouldn't either though

I don't think my guy would return them, figures his time is worth something too. Then again if he was shopping he would have checked the unit pricing & got the cheapestl. He so doesn't care about brands & is all about saving money. He'd never make the mistake of buying anything other than Hellmans light mayo for me though. I'd have a major puss face if he didn't. Mayo is important don't ya know?

I'm impressed with the OP's husband!

Mine.... well, even if I send him to the store with a very specific list, he'll call me at least twice with questions. I swear, he's one of the smartest people I know, but grocery shopping is just not his thing. And returns?? No way!

Sounds like a great guy he would not happen to have a couple of brothers in which myself and a couple of my single friends might date...just thought I would ask.

Two people going in the same direction is a wonderful thing!

My dh is a silent watcher of how I manage the budget. He knows what is going on and supports me to do the right thing which makes me feel great.

I see that your dh called you and then fixed the mistake--great job for your dh.

You got yourself a keeper there.... Mine would probably stop a the quik pik and spend a fortune, and then say he didn't get the reciept!! (a lil over-exageration, but not much) LOL
