Used to love them, until I moved to Ontario. Here they come with the risk (however slight) of a tornado -which scares the crud out of me. They are also a near daily occurrence, usually last just long enough to soak my laundry; are sometimes so violent that the house shakes, and yesterday's also included a bonus deluge of hail which made a mess of my garden.

I also love thunderstorms, even as a child. My grandma used to have to drag my inside when they started. I just love feeling all that power build up outside right before the storm hits. My ds loves them too. DH thinks we're crazy, and dd is terrified of thunderstorms ever since idiot DH let her watch Twister. @@

One of the only downsides to being the foothills of San Diego is that we only get about two nights of thunder per year. Even then, they're over in a half hour. We'll actually stay up and try to enjoy them. Obviously the cats don't like it, but they have brains the size of walnuts. ;-)

Don't mind them as long as they are not right over head. Have seen one to many lighting strikes. One kitty starts panicking and looking for a good place to hide. The other one could care less.

Somehow I always sleep right through them.
