soooooo not funny. I can't tell you how many times I have to get a password emailed to me because I forgot. I hate storing them in the computer for security reasons. So what do I do? Write them down and keep them near the computer.
Real secure technique!

I have 2 passwords that I use regularly. I do change them up by adding different numbers if I feel the need (for banking, etc.) I even have a hard time with that method occasionally, so can't imagine having a different pw for everything! LOL.

I pay everything online through the individual sites, not the bank billpay thingy so I have tons of passwords too. I bought a small address book that I keep in my desk drawer. All the sites are listed in alphabetical order under the right tabs. Easy peasy to flip through and find the right one. Now...if something happened to that book....well... it just wouldn't be pretty.

I have 1 pin, and 5 passwords that I rotate through (because work/some sites force me to change every so often). When I log into a site I haven't used in a while, I know I have a 1 in 5 chance of picking the right password. When I get in I change it to my current favorite so it'll be easier next time.

I use the same passwork for each account I have. I vary the last 4 numbers of it though, howeverr the last 4 numbers are a mix of some dates Ill not forget.
Exmple:
say the password is... cannon8791
the last 4 numbers would be two birth years but changed up for each account.
Now with online accts like FV and myspace and yahoo and so on, I will always use the same one."That which does not kill us makes us stronger."

I like to have fun with my passwords, using numbers and letters to spell something I am familiar with. For example...3 = E, 5 = S...that way I know that someone will have a hard time figuring out how I work! :-p Surprisingly, I find it hard to remember my pin code for my bank card which is only 4 numbers. Haha.

I keep my passwords written down in an address book that I keep near my computer. The only password that is kept entirely in my head is my banking password.

I would love to use the same password, but the rules are different on different sites, so I can't find one that work on all of them. And our work passwords (the main one, there are other ones for other systems) have complicated rules and must be changed at least every twenty-eight days, and can't be repeated for 12 (I think) times. Geez. You'd think I worked at Fort Knox! After every change I carry that one in my purse for a week or so! For the rest, I do the address book thing too.

I have a small rolodex that I keep all my passwords in. They are all pretty similar, but as you have said, different sites, different requirements. But the rolodex works best for me.
