Thread: PINK and other colors

My favorite color is burgundy, probably actually more of a mauve, but I just like the word "bugundy" -- almost every other letter is a vowel. My color's more a mix of a deep red and a deep blue, kind of a masculine hue, no other colors added in.

I am NOT a girly girl - in fact in High School my mom used to offer to increase my allowance if I would just curl my hair and put on some make up before school - never did take her up on it! I was a jock, I didn't see the need!
Having said that - I still rarely curl my hair or wear makeup - but I LOVE pink! Actually, I love all bright colors....not a huge fan of purple. I love lime green, orange, royal blue, bright pink.....
And bright colors look good on me. I have fair skin, blond hair and blue eyes - if I wear lighter colors I look so washed out.
DH wouldn't be caught dead in something pink (although I think there are plenty of masculine pink clothes). The closest thing he has is a plum colored linen shirt (and ssshhh, don't tell him its linen or he'll stop wearing it!)

I'm a tomboy and I absolutely can't stomach pink. I love light purple, lavender, etc but I refuse to have anything pink that I buy with my own money. My SIL gave me some clothes with pink in them but I use them for when I'm doing home improvement jobs and need a shirt to wear while painting.

thanks. i remember ex-h and I standing there gawking at the real room in the historic home. when we got home , we mailed paint chips to the volunteer docent in the historic home. she matched it for us and called us back. "historic authenticity nuts" picked out this color.
I remember the color of the room being more peachy, but she said this paint was the best match. it's sherwin williams "fifties pink".
my dining room is williamsburg governor's palace ballroom blue. i will start another thread. sherwin williams "bold blue" 1782 (prussian blue)11% gross to retirement

Blue is my absolute favorite color and I have a bad habilt of buying everything blue. I look good in all colors but I have to watch the yellows and greens. I'm 1/2 Blackfoot Indian and my olive complexion really becomes noticable in the wrong shades. I like bright pink opposed to pastel pink.

Love pink, all shades of pink. Total girlie girl here. My oldest loved the pink ranger from power rangers and even wanted to wear the pink ranger for his costume in the school parade when he was in first grade. Today I took him for a tux rental, his girl friend will be wearing a hot pink gown so he picked a hot pink vest and a multi shades of pink tie and pocket square. It looks quite sharp all put together.

I love a deeper pink but not the pastel or the bubblegum pink.

My Mom wanted a girly girl and was forcing pink on me from the beginning. Now with 3 boys I have to buy pink so they are not stealing my tools or socks. On top of that we had an "accident" with our paint and it ended up ...Pink!
I have finally talked DH into repainting and it will not be pink again. It will be the beige I thought I was getting. I've laid the law down to the boys to stay out of my socks because I'm buying no more pink.
I do believe there are colors worse than pink. I would have never tolerated orange or yellow on my walls for all these years.

I love pink. Pink and Red are my favorite colors. I have a pink hair trimmer that I use at work..I have gotten a couple of "comments" from the male clientele on it...because I primarily use it on men...oh well...I bought it with my money and I am the one who has to use it! Plus I think it was in honor of breast cancer awareness(kinda like a special edition one) so I like it even more for that reason!

My mother dressed me in pink A LOT as a child. Once I grew up and could make my own color choices pink was NOT one of them. I got over it in time. I now link hot pink, but not other shades of pink.
