Default I got one of those calls...

Okay, so this just isn't my day to get on my bad side...

Some computer called with a "special offer for... loan rate up the amounts of..." and "if you want to be removed from our list..."

So, while it was going over all its shpeel, I was telling it, just in case someone live was listening: "I'm not interested, and I'm not pushing any buttons, 'cause you'll just call me back anyway." And I hung up.

I hate those calls!! I usually wait and get someone on the line, then I ask to talk to the supervisor or manager right away!! When I get them on the line, I tell them that I don't want them calling my house anymore, and if they continue I will go to the head of the company!!! I also tell them that it is wrong to call after 4:00 in afternoon and on Sundays. I hate that, when I am trying to have quality family time with my kids and dh, the last thing I want to happen is to be interrupted by some telemarketers!!!

You know, I used to despise the telemarketers that would call all the time! Then I got to thinking about it and well, the person on the phone is just trying to make a paycheck like everyone else! So I tend to not be so crabby now when they call!!! However, I agree, they do drive you bonkers sometimes!

~I have not been pestered by any automated marketing messages(or any telemarketing actually) since I signed up for the Do Not Call list. We do get oodles of calls from people wanting donations and of course all the obnoxious political junk. Why can't we opt out of those too?~

Ohh how frustrating! I wonder if anyone was listening?

We don't get sales calls since we signed up for the Do Not Call list. We got a few from our credit card companies and we were very firm about also being placed on their Do Not Call list, and since then.... I can't remember the last sales call we got.

    I highly recommend signing up:

We have done the do not call registry (don't forget to add you cell # too), but still get calls for other people from bill collectors. THOSE drive me nuts! Especially when they act like I am lying when I tell them they have the wrong #.

I put our phone number on it earlier this year, but they sometimes don't pay attention to the list.

I hate those calls too but we signed up on the Do Not Call list and they have drastically decreased. We still get them for the donations and credit card companies but I tell them to put me on their do not call list also. Truly we don't get many at all now.

I don't mind the calls when someone's on the line nearly as much as I do those recorded ones. As long as they speak good enough English so I can understand them!

Someone once called me and I told him he had the wrong number, he just wouldn't believe it.

Finally, I told him I'd have the person he wanted call him back as soon as he came in.

    I still haven't seen him.

I have caller ID and I am not afraid to use it!

I am hearing impaired and when I tell people I do not conduct business over the phone they try ANYWAY..look I can't hear and if I do hear it doesn't mean I understand.

Why would I want to change my insurance, get a credit card etc if I don't know what I am agreeing to.

I just no longer pick up the phone and if for some reason it is someone I know they will call my cell and I will answer.

If I ever get them, I just politely say "I;m sorry, but I am NOT interested"....and then I hang up. I was polite, I told them no, I am under no obligation to listen to them try and convince me otherwise!
