    Default Post Office Mailing System-HELP

I mailed out a package to someone I sold to on E-Bay last Tuesday (priority mail). I guess the tracking info hasn't gone in until yesterday and she hasn't gotten her package yet, and she's all twirked off at me! Is it normal for the post office to sometimes take that long to even scan a package?

I've heard that the mail is slower than usual because they're not sending out the trucks until they're full (due to fuel cost). I don't know if that's true or not, maybe Darlene will know the answer as her dh is a mailman

    Where is the package headed?

Yes I'm out of my mind. It's a dark and scary place in there.

I also sell on Ebay and have noticed a slowdown in shipping times lately.

Occasionally, I will see that the post office will scan something late or on one occasion I remember, not at all! The package shipped and got there ok, but for some reason, the USPS tracking service never did register it as being scanned.

Maybe you can check with the post office you shipped it from?

THe PO doesn't always scan packages along the way. Often they are not scanned until they are delivered, which is why it is called 'delivery confirmation'. It just confirms delivery, it isn't a tracking system.

Sometimes they may scan along the way, but it isn't required.

If it was mailed priority you should be able to track it the next day, it shouldhave been scanned when you dropped it off. I would call the po and check on it. Good luck
