Please Pray For A Fellow Human Being
My dh is working in the Washington, DC area. He just crossed the Woodrow Wilson Bridge and said there was a guy trying to commit suicide by jumping over the bridge. As dh was listening to his CB radio, he heard various individuals talking who were angry that traffic was tied up as a result. He said one guy yelled, "let him jump, he's tying up traffic! Then traffic will start moving!" The police finally wrestled the guy to the ground. Then he heard another guy say he knew the policemen were mad because it was pouring down rain and they had to get all wet and muddy as a result! How callous that people can be so insentive and uncaring about another human beings pain!
Please pray for this man that he gets the help that he needs and that happiness is restored to his life.
Thank you.
Stacey

What a sad story. Thankfully no one was hurt or killed as a result, but it's sad that people can be so callous in matters of life and death.

I think the angry folks wishing him dead need some prayers that they can find compassion and tolerance in their lives.

I am so glad that someone took the time to help this man. The policemen and passerbys might have been upset about the situation, but a life is worth saving! I hope and pray this man finds help for the pain he is going through.

What a sad situation! It is hard to say, but I am not too surprised by the reactions of the passersby and policemen. People can be so hard hearted until it comes to them or one of their own.
I will keep this man in my prayers...thank you for telling us about him.

That is so sad that poor guy figured it was the only way out for him.......... I don't understand why people are so unfeeling. May the people who were more worried about themselfs have a reality check....... (Nothing bad)
FernYes I'm out of my mind. It's a dark and scary place in there.

I'd say unbelievable, but unfortunately, I do believe it. People are incredibly selfish.

That is one of the saddest things I've heard. I can't believe anyone would be so heartless. Bless you Stacey for caring enough to post a prayer request.
How much we enjoy what we have is more important than how much we have. Life is full of people who have more than they know what to do with, but cannot be content. It is the capacity to enjoy life that brings contentment.---Unknown

I just read this to DH. I can't believe he said, they should have let him jump.
I however, hope this guy does get some help. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

Never trust the words of heresay. Did they hear a police officer say that they were mad that they got muddy?
Perhaps the person that said that saw the look of concentration on the officer's face and mistook it for anger. It stinks that the people who had to put their lives at risk for someone who wishes to end their own are judged so harshly. It is what it is.
