    Default digital camera DIED!!

OUr digital camera went kerput... talk about being depressing!!

It was working i went to take a picture oh about a month ago and it kept turning off. Joe "fixed it" by pulling out the battery connection a little.

Well this last week i went to take a picture of ellen and suddenly it flickered into lines and out it went UGh.. went to turn it back on and it said that the card messed up and it needs to be reformatted. Well we reformatted the card and it froze. Then turned it back on and lines was all we got .

    Darn!!

I have a digital camera its some where packed away but no cord for it .. i have looked all over for a cord .. so has my mom.. its obviously an old camera ... Blargh. Depressing.

oh, that stinks! Sorry to hear that.

I like my little HP digital - paid something like $97 for it about 3 years ago, and never a day's trouble. I know you can get them much cheaper now - probably more like $79. Got mine at Wal Mart.

I would google search something like "problems with (insert name/brand camera"

Something went wrong with dh's expensive camera and I suggested he google it. Glad he did b/c it turns out there was a recall on the cameras for a faulty part so they sent him an envelope to mail his camera in, then mailed hiim back a new one.

Yes! I googled my camcorder one time to find the problem was a simple fix that the company was requiring owners to send the camera in for repairs, instead of just telling you how to fix it. It's worth a try at least.

Oh how awful!!! I would be lost without our digital camera and dh would be a basket case. He wouldn't know what to do with himself on weekends if he couldn't go out and take nature photos. He's becoming quite the amateur photographer.

How you can figure out what's wrong with it soon.

I had a lens jam, and contacted Olympus about it. I was out of the warantee period, but they had a program where it was a flat price to fix it no matter what, or they would take it as a "trade" towards a new camera. I ended up getting it fixed for about 1/3 of what a (comparable) new one would cost.

A few times my Nikon Coolpix acted like it was dead. Refused to start up. Turned out the menu selection knob was in between valid clicks, usually from being in my pocket. now I know to check this. Was a scare, but turned out to be nothing. hopefully you can google it and find something helpful.
