Update, and I missed you...
I have been absent from the village for several weeks until yesterday, and I've missed you all. The month of June was a draining and frightening one - one in which I had 2 trips to the ER. The 1st they thought I was having a heart attack, and I was not but do have some severe mis-fires (heart racing sometimes mixed in with skipping about 1/3 of the beats). Then I had what they still are undecided whether was a stroke or not, which has left me with a decrease of about 30 degrees peripheral vision, a numb area around the corner of my mouth (through which I occasional find I am drooling slightly), and a severe lack of gripping ability in my left hand paired with it feeling like it has been shot full of Novocaine. BUUUUT!!! Please realize that if that WAS a stroke, that is minor residual damage, and the doctors are in disagreement about it.
Meanwhile, they've done a LOT of testing - some of which yielded humorous results. Remember that I am nearly 50, overweight, badly work-a-holic, and over-stressed for a long time - so here's the funny... My stress test could compete with Lance Armstrong! You should have seen the looks on their faces! I started out with a resting pulse of 114 (yep, ther ARE 3 digits in that number) and got up to their "stressed" pulse very quickly, but once there I think I could have just kept on going like an Energizer bunny - they really didn't know what to make of it, kept asking wasn't I feeling faint, and I was fine. They also did an MRI of the carotid arteries to check for plaque deposits which would interfere with bloodflow to my brain - usually people have some by their mid 40's and people who are overwieght are likely to have alot. I had NONE! They re-did it to check. Zippo! Blood tests also indicate that my cholesterol is back within healthy range and well balanced between the LDL and HDL, and I dropped my triglycerides by over 250 points. So the funny thing is that I'm pretty darned healthy! I am learning to compensate for the disability in my left hand, and nobody else has caught me drooling yet, so I'm just reminding myself that I am "teach-able" and not too old a dog to learn new tricks.
Boy am I happy to be back in the village!

Its good to have you back! Testing can be a pain but I'm glad the results turned out positive. There is also the posibility that the small residual stuff will fade. Hope they do. Glad to see you posting again.
