Girlfriends Holiday
You may be saying to yourself, "Isn't this the woman who went to the Renaissance Faire, the Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre, to California, on a cruise.....?"
YES! I am a travelin' fool, and now I leave again on Monday. But this time it's just me, not Hubby.
Every summer, a bunch of us girlfriends get together for 4 days. We all raised our kids together, and now some have scattered to live in other places. But we choose a destination that is equal distance for all of us, get a motel, and gather to shop, talk, eat, shop, talk, eat. We bring all our photos from the last year to share, and frankly, we get very little sleep. We laugh together; we cry together. But oh! Do we ever look forward to this every year!
I am so blessed to have great girl friends which have been a part of my life for years. So pardon me while I get packed!
A question for you: Do you have those good and faithful girlfriends that have been so important to you over the years? What do you cherish about your relationships?

That sounds like so much fun.

No, I don't have IRL girlfriends who could do something fun like that with me, but I sure wish I did!
Hope you have a blast!

That sounds wonderful.
You are very fortunate.
And no, I haven't been so
blessed in that area.
Have a great time!
Take a picture of all you
so we can see these great
people.

My longstanding IRL girlfriends are too far away, so we never meet up and go anywhere.
Michelle's comment made me remember awhile back when we had an FV slumber party, though. Maybe we need to do another one - we all wrote what we'd bring, what we'd do, what we'd wear and it was fun. Especially the cabana-boy!

Well, doesn't that sound like fun???
I do, actually, have a small group of girlfriends who are like my sisters. We've been friends since we were 7, and sometimes, when we are together, we are 7 all over again.
We don't get together very often because we live such different lives and our schedules are so varied, but we do keep in touch on a regular basis. One of the girls came over last night because she was in town and we had a great time.
We tried to do a getaway weekend in the fall, but it just never panned out.
We'll have to try again.

A FV slumber party? Now how do we do that? Sounds interesting, tho.
As I read your replies and well wishes, I began to ponder on the blessings of my relationships with friends. It takes a lot of time to sustain these relationships. The internet email makes it faster to stay in touch, and the phone makes it more personal. But I really do cherish our time together.
I try to make time for various girl friend relationships. I meet a college friend a couple times a year for lunch and chat. A college roomie lives in Kansas City, so we try to meet up at least once a year. I have friends from high school and college that stay in email touch. I have friends who are local and we try to get together often to have lunch, chat, work together, walk, etc. And then I have these special friends for whom I carve out several days for our get -together.
May your friends be cherished!Spiritual:
