I need to complain! - bad news! BAD!
I think it started when I was reading the threads on what was happening to thwart our frugal plans - things like car repairs, dental problems, etc. Right after I read that, my toilet broke and had to be fixed ($120 plus parts I bought). The resulting water bill from that incident was a third more costly than usual, too.

Then, the hubcap melted off my car tire and off to the shop for repars on brakes ($350)
The car almost overheated when I had on the a/c and drove the 20 minutes into town. Since then, I've not been using the car a/c for fear of blowing the radiator. I checked and the antifreeze level was fine so I have no idea why it nearly overheated (I had to turn on the HEAT full blast to prevent it!
Then I get a certified letter from the IRS on Saturday morning. Seems they've decided I don't qualify for the Earned Income Credit for 2004 despite me checking and rechecking with my friend at H&R block before I decided to pay $300 for her to do my back taxes to recoup what they owed me for EIC for the last 3 years that I had not previously claimed (thanks to lazy accountant). IRS seems to think my disability retirement that I pay taxes on as earnings doesn't qualify, although there is wording right there in the IRS rules for EI credit that says the opposite since I am NOT retirement age but on an early retirement for disability through the federal government!!
Oh, and did I mention I just got income tax checks for the other 2 years (2005 & 2006) that I promptly put in the bank?!
The other money I got refunded from taxes for 2007 is "spent" on bills!
That wasn't enough, I guess, for one day. Later in the day I decided to turn on my central A/C since it was getting over 80 in the house and having all the windows open didn't help any. It had been off for days while I tried to "conserve".The furnace fan did not come on. The outside a/c until works but no blower fan. Nothing. Dead. NO air. This means no heat, too. So I probably need a new blower motor.
I also have been having a terrible lower back pain that won't go away even when I lay down at night. I am afraid to see the doctor about that because then there will be bills and copays for x-rays and more. Could be anything from a herniated disk to kidney problems. Lord knows! My arm and wrist has been aching too.
So, if you are having a bad day or week, you're not alone! Most of this stuff may or may not work out eventually, but it's really ruining my summer and summer has barely started yet and we never even get to go on any sort of vacation! I just seem to keep getting
no matter what I do!

Goodness I'm sorry you're having such a rotten time. If I were you I'd go bake a double batch of chocolate chip cookies, grab a gallon of milk, and eat them all until they're gone. Sharing with others purely at your own discretion. Seriously, I hope things turn around very quickly for you...
