feel like crap.
my mom looked at my throat earlier and thinks i have strep. shes a nurse. so 2morrow i have to find a place that will take me with a minimal bill (hopeful but doubtful). merrick was running around in here when jason's mom came in the morning and then at my mom's, dunno what im going to do starting 2morrow until saturday to keep him from getting this besides the usual washing my hands and whatever else to keep from spreading. my mom orginally came over to hand over a snake for the toilet to get a clog out, didnt work and had to call roto rooter and found out it was lime build up. we went over to my mom's and had some kfc (she bought it).

thank you all. im feeling a little better. i took a claritin and sucked on 2 cough drops and it has helped with the sore throat. lol, i forgot about the 2 cans of apple juice we had until a half hr ago. i know i shouldnt have but i had 3 cans of pop today just to stay awake along with a chocolate milkshake from the kfc/a&w store. i told jason if he could get to save a lot 2morrow to get a few cans of apple juice and hopefully that will last me until i can get rid of this. this is the first time since 05 that i have gotten sick, even with living with my mom last yr. i just hope merrick doesnt get this.

Sorry you're not feeling well. Kids are great for spreading germs and viruses - ask me how I know! LOL! I wasn't sick a day for years until my child started school then I was sick all the time with every cold and flu that was going around. Anyways, I hope you feel better soon.

I'm glad you're feeling some better but still ... take it easy and I'm sure your mom told you this but if you may have strept, please go to the Dr.
(Hugs)
Love,
Jen

I'm so sorry. I am very strep prone. I've found that often I can head a strep throat off without having to use antibiotics by gargling every 2 hours with hot salt water and the hours in-between with hot baking soda in water. Don't get the water so hot that it burns your mouth, but you want it hot (not just lukewarm). put about 1/2 teaspoon of salt or soda in about 6 ounces of water, and keep gargling until it is gone. It kills the germs that are present on the surface, but apparently they reproduce fast enough that you have to kill off a bunch of them every hour or they overwhelm your immune system. It is really your immune system that wins the war - the gargling just helps give it the upper hand in the battle. Hope it works for you and that you feel better very soon.

Try some lysine.. its like $9 for a large bottle at GNC .. but SOOO worth it .. it increases your immune system. ( Vitamin C with out rose hips if you can find them.. then dose 2X recommended)
Claritin works well .. but my mom got my some zyrtec( more expensive but now they are coming out with store brands) .. to use when i get sick sick HOLY COW dries everything up REAL quick.
As for the sore throat those long tube popcycles.. are perfect and cheap.. i crush them up really good before opening them and suck some of the slush and tilt my head back to apply the cold to certain areas of my throat.
I have sinus problems and allergies so sinus infections, ear infections and strep are common with me.
